Default Choices For MRC motor replacement.

What is a good high turn option motor to replace the stock losi? While at the same time trying not to break the bank. I know the stock losi one is very inexpensive but i thought i might try something different.

I have the Holmes Hobby Torque Master Mini, Losi Insane 370 and the Losi Mini Slider. The HH and the Insane 370 are very good. The 370 has a bit more speed. I just picked up the Mini Slider and man it kicks both other motors in the speed dept. It has been raining so I have not had any outside time to see how it does for torque.

You may need a good ESC to pair up with the motors though. My ESC did not give me good enough drag or low end control. I like the Tekin FX-R. It is small and it is meant for 1/10 scale systems so I know it can handle my MRC.

I have a HH Mini torque master in my MRC and love it. Not a rocket but good wheel speed and plenty of torque.

I have a HH mini currently in mine, but they are known to have some problems with the brushes getting stuck. Just lightly sand the brushes or get ahold of JRH to get the silver colored brushes for the motor..But most of the motors never have a problem.

When I ran mine at ECC, one brush was broke in half and had cost me the 1st place finish. But I called JRH as soon as I got home and he had new brushes on the way to me..Took the motor apart and lightly sanded the comm and new brushes and it runs like a raped ape now. But you can not go wrong at all with any JRH product

I also drove Jeff's truck(Kamikaze) at ECC and he has the mongoose system..I was very surprised at the control it had for it being a brushless system and I may just have to try one in my truck later down the road
