Lightbulb Rainer 9 chassis V2 Feedback thread

We have been working on a new revision of the Rainer 9 chassis. Before we go into production on the V2's we would like your feedback.

The new chassis design utilizes a top bar for mounting the shocks and a lower chassis rail to maintain a scale look. Everything that was included with the original will be included with the V2's

Let us know what you think if all said is good well get the chassis rolling ASAP.

Thanks,
Shane Costa

Whats the purpose of the turned down frame on one end and not the other?

Can you get a 10 inch wheel base with that chassis? I have a sweet new bright jeep body with no home yet.

I think I would like to see holes in the rails that are below the shock mount rails.... just for that much more adjustability. just my 2 pennies, I'm ALWAYS adjusting set ups and have swiss cheesed some chassis in the past...

The frame is turned down on one end to give a fell of front and rear much like the original Rainer 9

Yes you can get a 10in wheelbase and have the axles look proper on the chassis. You will need to make links a total of 1'' longer (.5'' front and rear)

I am currently keeping holes off of the rails below the shock mounts to keep the chassis with a clean and solid look.

Id also like to ask if everyone would be interested in a steel chassis instead of aluminum because due to the size it would not greatly increase weight and if left raw would eventually take on a cool rust appearance much like a real chassis.

Thanks for the feedback so far.

A steel chassis sounds nice. How bout you send one my way for testing ? Ha, but I would like to get a scale build going and a steel, rusty-ish chassis would go perfect!

Looks like it would work, but here's the real question are you going to be releasing to leaf springs to go with this scale build??
And yes steel would be fine on something like this, ya got to figure most of these builds are going to have some heavy ass body on top so does a few ounces of chassis really make a difference? i don't think so.

Thumbs up

RcBro looks like they aren't going to produce the chassis they were prototyping now so send me a pm or e-mail as soon as your new scaler chassis here is available for purchase. I've had my mrc in pieces for a month now waitin for a scaler chassis and have really started to miss runnin it. Thanks

If these have some good feedback I might have to throw a fourth MRC into the fleet. A scaler would be a good way to go.

Hi everybody, I have been working on the chassis , so much that i forgot all about this thread!

The chassis now has slide adjust mounts and has been stretched out, along with the shock hoops being raised 8mm to lower the chassis.
The only disadvantage to this is that the tires rub at full lock when the suspension is articulated. But after hours of debate and trial and error ive realized that that is the one compromise that comes with a scale chassis for the MRC. If the chassis where to be adjusted to work with the steering so it dose not rub the chassis dose not look as scale as id like so for scale sake this chassis is a mixture of both form and function. Also the first batch of chassis will be aluminum.

Again im sorry for not really looking at this thread i got all cought up in the chassis and graduation!
