Default Mr. Ed's Comp KK Zero Build

I finally got my Zero and it was worth the wait! I'm currently in the process of building it but I need to make a run to the LHS for some more screws hope to be done by the end of the week if possible. Got some shots of it for ya as we all love our RC PORN

Need some help on mounting my shocks though. I have MLST2 shocks and the mounting hole is very large and the chassis is designed to use 2mm hardware and the screw set for the shocks is 3mm. Now I know I could just drill the chassis out but I dont want to do that just yet. Check out the pictures of the shocks, screws, and mounting hardware and post up some ideas for me please. I do have a picture of some fuel tubing but the fit in the shock is not tight at all.

Specs of the build are..
KK Mini ZERO Comp Chassis
Losi insane 370 with 12 tooth pinion
Futaba 3pm 2.4 RX/TX
Axial wheels
Proline Flat Iron's
Losi Metal lockers
Hitech 645 servo
Sac Racing Bent Lower Links
Stock Lower links for the Upper links

You're screwed with the shock problem.... Guess you should just send it to me since you cant use it

OK really what you can do is get a small washer for the 2mm screw. Use the fuel tubing and when the screw tightens the washer against the tubing, it will expand and fill the hole in the shock. Just cut the tubing a little longer than the thickness of the mounting tab on the shock.

The more you tighten, the tighter your shock will be. Go too tight and you lose movement you need for good flexxx.

Mmmmm does that make me wierd?ha ha nope cuz on this site there shouldnt be one person that disagrees....p.s. i drove up and bought it yesterday but no it sleeps in its own room

Its bout time.

I was getting tired of hearing you bitch about not getting your chassis in, and how once you do your gonna stomp the miXer all over the place. Well, I am just about done getting the mixer all dialed in, so I guess its game on.

Looks killer tho, to bad it will never get built... more trips to the hobby store.

No seriously, I cant wait till you get it done so we can run em...

On the shock thing, here's what I would recommend, and, it does sound a little goofy, and hokey, and you may not like this idea, but its what I'm doing and it works killer. Invert the shocks. Bolt them on upside down. Use the stock losi end links and bolt them to the chassis, and put a piece of nitro fuel tubing through the upper shock mount, and bolt it to the bottom. Works like a charm, and doesnt bind at all. Give it a try, and then give me a shout if that don't work... be glad to help... or maybe not.

Ya know what on second thought.. It looks like since your shocks wont fit that you'll never be able to actually run the thing. Man, I'm so bummed out right now, I was really looking forward to some good compition. Oh well....

Glad to see you like it. I actually had it in mind to drill out what you needed to drill out. There are so many different types of shocks to use that I just went ahead and drilled the holes out for 2mm, I am actually running 3mm hard wear on my shocks. I will still cover these under warranty with up to a 1/8" hole in them.

Well I got it out on the rocks today and all I can say is WOW. I took some SICK lines I would of never tried before. And I dont even have my chassis set up like I want it yet. This is a incredible chassis and I would suggest it to anyone who wants to know what it's like to MAKE THAT CLIMB!

I'm running stock upper links and SAC lower bent links but I dont think the bent lowers work that well for me with this chassis. the links hit each other in the configureation I want them to be in. So off to the hobby shop to get some factory lower links. Nothing againest the SAC links they have been BAD ASS!

Kamikaze gave me some tips for the set up that I plan to get done soon. Oh, NOOOOOOOOOOO torque twist. I didnt realize how much that affected my old set up.

Sorry no pictures of todays run I was too busy playing to get out the camera but will get some pictures up later.

Well got some new bling and wanted to share.

1...built a rear body mount out of some 250 styrene which looks like a 4x4 post.

2...Put a call in to RCBROS.COM and got this.
1....RPM Servo mounts
2....RCbro servo clamps (WAY COOL!)
3....ALum servo arm
4....x2 7.4 volt 1000mah 20c lipos (12 bucks each)

3...Finished steering mod and finally got the lipo on the side of the chassis
4...wrapped the stock MRC foams around the rims and wrapped the Losi Memory foams around that trying to get my rear tires to slip a little to help with steep climbs and bouncing over ledges..hope it works I have yet to test it but will soon!

ON TO THE RC PORN!
