Default Using Radio to control speed

I want to put a hotter motor in a MRC but want to still be able to crawl as well as doing a little trail riding and general bashing. I was thinking I could used the throttle control on my radio to dial down the throttle for low speed crawling and then crack it back up for higher speed runs. Has anyone tried this or know any reason it would or wouldn't work.

HUH?

Throttle is not "on" or "off" its variable already by pulling more or less on the trigger. There is no EPA or Dual rate for the throttle on the Stock radio if you are trying to limit the amount of throttle vs pull.

You have a trade off of wheelspeed vs torque at low speed. The higher your wheel speed, the worse it will do at low speed usually. You're really only going to get a "brisk walking speed" out of the MRC before you start to overheat the motor and ESC. I'm running a 19t modified (not the stump puller) and its got good wheelspeed, but it does run pretty warm.
