Default New to the group.. servo question..

Just got my MRC last week and so far I've only done the Losi aluminum shocks and wheel weights.. Now I'm looking to put the Hitech 645 servo in and I have a couple of questions..

Does it require a different servo plate?
Can you use the non servo saver servo arm on it that came with the car?

Great forum here.. Ton's of tips and tricks..

Thanks..

If you use the 645, you will have to get a new servo plate. There are a few companies that make them but may only come with the full chassis, you will have to search for it. I use a piece of Plexiglas and made my own. I have also used a piece of tupperware before the Plexiglas, so there a few ways off making you own.

Here is pic of mine a while ago

and now....

I used this mount from RCBROS. It bolts directly up to the MRC and looks great.

I found that if you dont have the cash, or just cant wait for your servo plate and mounts to come in that you can attatch the servo with 3 carefully *obviously* placed zip ties. Be sure you tighten them down really well, and it'll hold as good as any plate and mounts out there...

But, it doesnt look as pretty.

Thanks.. I went to the LHS and he had a mount for an Axial that I could drill out the mounting holes..

I just can't get the screws out of my original plates as I only have a 1.5mm allen..

Might use the zip ties until I can get over and pick up the proper allen's to work on this thing..
