Default ESC problems....Maybe..? Castle? FX-R? Novak?

So my stock esc finally took a crap i think. When i get my crawler in a slight bind on a fully charged battery my motor just cuts off totally. I still have steering but for about 3-7 seconds i have no motor control. This happens when i just start crawling and when i feel the esc its not hot. I sacrificed my FX-R from my 2.2 for a while but i just sold it with the fx-r. Other than the lipo cutoff on the fx-r the stock esc worked pretty darn good until now i think.

Has anyone tried using this: Castle Creations 1/18 Sidewinder Micro Sport ESC? It has a drag brake and a lipo cutoff. What esc's are you guys using? I run the Holmes Mini with a 7.4v 800mah lipo.

I have been using the FX-R since my stock ESC died. The small footprint is great. Since it is make for 1/10 scale systems it has no issues dealing with the MRC. The drag brake rocks and now I am messing with the custom settings via the hotwire. I have used the HH, mini slider and Insane 370. I am now using a Bill's Handwound 35t. This ESC has no issues with anything I have used so far.
