| Freshly painted MRC Bods- 72 C10 and Descender
Here are two new bodies I painted. I was not really in the mood to paint them so the designs are pretty cut and dry. Three colors each and nothing too fancy. I have to admit, they look great except I had to hack the front grilles off of both of them to clear the battery pack on top of the full size servo. 72 Chevy C10 Descender aka as close as you can get to a sidekick without paying royalties |

Those look great! I've been kicking around a few bodies, but after seeing yours I think the C10 may be the way to go. By the way, I haven't seen a battery like that before. I'm assuming you separated the factory pack? Great idea! |

I like the C10 body quite a bit more too. I did seperate the factory pack, you are correct. I created a little battery tray out of a piece of lightweight aluminum and zip-tied it to the front upper arm. Three of the cells sit there and the other three sit on the front servo like you see. It took a little more work to get full articulation. I had to remove the top radio plate, replace it with a few crossmembers (From HPI Savage), and machined the front crossmember until the batteries on the top arm didn't interfere with the suspension. Here are a few pics. This thing crawls like an SOB now. |
