Yes. Try Searching "Novak Mongoose" in an Advanced Search with Losi Mini Rock Crawler selected.

Default Novak Mongoose

I have them in two of my trucks and love them. Lots of torque at slow speed and tons of wheel speed when you need it. I have updated drive shafts, tranny, and axles to hold up to the power they provide.

Even though they say you can run a 3 cell don't. I burnt min up running 3

cells after a week. Run 2 cell. its still fast enough and it will run forever. Plus if

you run it in a comp you can only use 2 cell anyways.

Default BEC related question...

If I were to run this combo with Lipo would I need a BEC also?

Yes, probably. The Novak ESC is only good for a few Amps. If you're running a full-sized servo, a higher rated BEC (such as Castle's) would be a good thing for protecting your ESC from drawing too much power for your servo.

I have a Mongoose in my 1.9 and I run a 5995TG servo without a BEC, no problems.

A Tekin FXR with a Slider has close to the same feel and more speed and power.

Question for you guys running the Mongoose setup. I've ordered this for my MRC and was going to pick up a couple lipos as well.

I was looking at either the 800 or 1100 mah Maxamps packs. Is the C rating on the packs really that important for crawler applications? I understand what a C rating is, just wondering if having a pack that is rated at 25c is completely overkill and wouldn't benefit a crawler motor setup. Anyone have any idea what type of run times I could expect with the Mongoose and a 800 mah lipo?

seems like maybe these systems may all be just a bit different.....I definitely needed a BEC with a full sized servo.... I run a 1350 mah thunderpower and a 14 tooth pinion for comps and play around time and have had zero issues....great system
