Default Motor or Esc

When i drive my rock crawler after about 5 minutes the motor will just quit But the steering still functions.?? any one know what this is is it the motor or speed control?? And whats the best motor option for the mrc thats not pricey..
Also what type of shocks are the best besides the losi ones?

I finally got my crawler back together wow the lockers made a big difference. so did the blue claws!!!

Do you have a stock servo? Sounds like you might need a bec.

I'm kinda curious about this as well. I got a used one a couple days ago with all stock electronics and mine does this as well. Mine however does it when I am in a bind and give it more throttle to try to get out of it and the motor will stop but steering still works. I haven't waited more than 5-10 seconds to see if motor function will return, before I switch off the RX, then wait a few seconds and switch it back on and it works fine. Nothing is running hot all feels cool to the touch. I'm not to concerned as I will be upgrading electronics soon, but was curious as to what causes this.

My motor was doing this not too long ago ( Losi Insane 370 ) and the guy at the lhs told me to spray some electrical cleaner into the motor while it was running he said " my brushes were getting carbon deposit's or connects were dirty" I did this twice to my motor and no problems since

I'll use the cleaning of the motor.
And I'm using a full size servo.

How hot is your ESC getting during all this?

If your MRC is relatively new and you haven't been crazy in the mud, dust, etc, it may not be a cleanliness issue.

With that full size servo: if your ESC is getting hot, too, it's probably time for a BEC.

your servo is pullin to many amps for the ESC. You need a BEC.

Castle Creations sells one for around $25. Set it to 6v and call it good.

Even with mini servos that are not stock you still need a BEC. But don't get a

mini. You will burn it up. Get a full size servo and run a BEC.
