Its either your ESC (electronic speed controller, small smoked black square that has a blue heatsink coming out the top) or your reciever (small smoked black rectangle that has 2 sets of multicolored wires that plug into it)

Either way, it doesnt matter. Here is what I'd suggest. Fully disconnect both of them, and remove them from the rig. Then open the covers (via the 4 #0 phillips head scres on the bottom) and spray them with wd-40. Allow the wd-40 to set for about 15 seconds, and then blow it out with compressed air.
Most people dont know that wd-40 is one of the "trails" greatest saviors. It cleans, lubricates, loosens, AND it repels water (thus the WD in WD 40. It stands for Water Displacement).

Do that two or three times, and then let dry over night. If it isn't working in the morning, then post back up and we'll walk you through the diagnostic process.

It sounds like to me its game over. Never heard of dunking a ESC in water that

is not waterproof and it survives. Interested to see if what soundcolor says will

work. But I have high doubts, but hopefull

You could always try putting the esc in a box of rice. Draws all of the water out. Worked for my cellphone after i put it in the washing machine.

I'd still try soundcolor's idea. If water didn't kill it,the minerals left behind & possible corrosion most llikely will:?

x2 it's worth the time to do that and droppin a unexpected 50 to 100 bucks on a new esc would suck! do the receiver while yer at it!
