the penn springs mod is the springs out of a bic pen you write with. they are all the same length. the reason the black spring is stiffer than the rest is too help with Tourque twist. but the best fix for that is a better chassis with a 4 link set up. |

I went to full droop using losi micro springs off one of the 1/36 shocks. It had just enough to suck down the front and just enough compression to leave enough stroke for full travel......havent changed it since and plan on doing the same to the rest of my mini's |

will fliping the center gearbox around reduce the tq twist ? I'm going to fab some 4-linkmounts and links for my mrc and maby an gf-chassis with derlin skid.and mount all the links on the inside of the tvp's , i've seen that a'lot of people mounts the lower links towards the ceter of the chassis so iäm gonging to do the same !. |

Flipping the gearbox does nothing to reduce torque twist. It just moves the motor to the front side, and leaves more room behind for electronics. Sounds like you've got a plan tho! Can't wait to see it! Mike |

I am anti springs. If you run external springs, then they are constantly trying to force the axle downward.... If youa run internal springs, they they are constantly trying to force the axle up... whats the diffrence, you are trading one thing you dont want for another. I say skp the springs all together and run 70wt oil or better. Your rig will sit low, your axles will move the way you want, when you want, and above all else, you wont have to fight to get the rig to do what you want. I run my RcBros shocks with no springs and 70wt oil. I glide and slide over stuff with ease, and if I get to a section that you would think I would get hung up on, the axles drop right down and let the tires do their job. I cant think of anything better. |

AGREED Soundcolor.......I also ran my junk with RC Bros shocks with no springs at all and it did always feel sure footed and stable, BUT I had an issue with my front end completely unloading the front shocks. A light spring definitely aided in that and I didnt lose tha ability to articulate over the rocks....I like it now.....for now

I CANT STAND THIS!!!!! I love my springs! I refuse to go droopy! or atleast till I try it The reason I have fo keeping my springs is that I havent seen any of the top comp drivers in the nation running droop. now I may be wrong but most of the top guys run springs. I do plan to give it a shot ( or soundcolor will nag me:-P ) lets start a new thread to droop or not to droop! |

I'm going with internal springs on my droop set up. I tried 50wt without springs and it was horrible. I'm just waiting for the springs from TCS, so I can put them in my mew alu Losi shocks.
