Default Sidewinder Micro and Insane 370

Picked up a Sidewinder micro from Stacy on this site.. I'm using a Losi Insane 370 Brushed motor.

Wired it up per instructions and I get the same symptoms as a couple of others have had.

Go through the initial setup with the transmitter and all is well.

But the motor only pulses going forward and backward.

I've tried black and red to the motor and black and white. Same thing

Read that there was an issue with the firmware, but using white and black would work..

Also.. All the led's work, but I get no chirps as mentioned int he manual..

And I was soooo looking forward to using this with my new motor.

Any suggestions?

Do you have a castle link? It comes from the factory in brushless mode. I tried to get by without one, but it was well worth the money.

Nope I guess I was hoping the ESC could figure out the type of motor on it's own.

I'll check my LHS and see if they have it in stock.

Thanks.

So do i keep the motor wired up for white and black or put it back to red and black?

Reason I ask is that I wired it up with dean's connectors I had laying around as I didn't have the plug type connections that were on it.. If it needs to go back to read and black, I have to resolder the connections... again.... :-(

Just wait till you get the castle link. After you get it programed you will be able to tell which one.

Not mine, even with the castle link and updating the firmware 2 times.

Well... I just programmed it and the motor is not doing a thing now.. So I'm getting ready to hook up the red wire instead of the white..

I'll let you know.

Now.. I did not update the software from the web yet. The guy at the LHS stated to use the software that came with it first as a lot of folks don"t like the complexity of the newer version.. We'll see...

Updated the firmware.. Main change that affected me was motor reversal cna be set.. It appears that with the stock Losi transmitter you have to reverse the throttle on it, then reverse the motor in the interface to get the Green LED to flash going forward. This also effect the throttle and brake curves too..

All in all I'm happy with it so far.. I'll get a chance to play with it more this weekend...
