Default Losi 600mah Lipo balancing tap question

Is the tap on the little Losi battery the same as a Thunder Power?

I picked up one of these batteries and am wanting to know what balance board to use with my Hyperion:
http://holmeshobbies.com/product.php...0&cat=7&page=1

The end looks a lot like a Thunder Power tap I saw a closeup of .... but I am hoping someone can clear it all up for me.

Thanks

Default Not Thunder Power

I just got this battery too & have the Venom charger & it's LiPo balance block which has ThunderPower/FlightPower connectors. The Losi doesn't fit on it.

Red face Correction: Maybe ThunderPower

It looks like the balancer that comes with the Venom & the aftermarket aren't the same, so my previous post may be wrong:

I've been running my 600's for several months w/o balancing them. No signs of problems. But not sure on the tab, that's mostly why I haven't balanced them. Ha.

Thanks, very helpful, but not sure if even on your site I could find the Losi connector. I'd read in the Losi forum that the Thunderpower was compatible based on pin layout, but the plug itself didn't line up. Do you have any insight?

i had previously contacted 2 battery companies on this site and losi about this one of a kind special plug. they all told me the same thing nobody makes an adapter to fit the losi taps only losi products. so you basically have to have a losi balancer just for your losi packs

lol, figures. I mean lately alot of battery companies have been going to the JST-X. It appears this to me would be a way to get lOSI to purchase thier chargers. If this is true.

that might be the case if that is true. I honestly couldnt tell you as I have never run Losi batteries. I generally have purchased other brands of batteries and now recently am selling another brand.

Nevermind. Just seen a better pic of the tap and it looks like the TP one. Maybe you can just change the balance plug to the align tap.

if this helps ran into the same problem, went to the hobby store and picked up some correct connectors for my balancer jack $1.50, then pulled the pins on the battery, and aftermarket jack and soldered new pins and pushed them back in the new connector, could of just extended the wires but I wanted a clean job. Now it can balance and use other connectors like the low battery buzzer as they all seem to use the wider plug then what the battery came with

I had to cut the tabs off of the balancing tap to make it work with my hyperion charger. Had two different tap connectors and neither one of them had a spot for the losi. Just cutting the tabs off the losi battery allowed it to fit and WORK in one of the 2s spots.
