Default Broken Universal Joints Common?

Hey guys Ive had my MRC for about a week now and I broke my first part. One of the pins (the smaller one) on my front universal joint disappeared during a crawl session. I can think of 20 different things i thought would have broke first. Anyway, I fixed it with piano wire for now. Is this common?

it can be common, try to get in the habbit of checking every fastener on the truck every battery. it will help to catch stuff before it goes to far.
it may seem like a pain, but you can visibly check the whole truck in just a min.

Put shrink tube over the areas where the pins are and presto, no more lost pins.

Same thing happened to me with in the first week. I cut a piece of paper clip and bent it in there.

soon as I lost my first pin I replaced all of them with some finishing nails and shrink tubing.
