Thanks WD40 softens rubber. spray WD40 on the whole of the outside of the tire, then put it in a freezer/zip lock bag and seal it up, I put two per bag. Then leave it for 14 hours and open up, wash off and dry with a rag, I use a very small amount of soap to wash off some of the excess WD40 with then just rub dry with a clean rag. A word of caution: some tires swell up, some a lot, when soaking them in WD40. The stock MRC rock claws will swell up and be very hard to fit onto the standard rims again if you have done the beadlock conversion on them. If your re-gluing then it shouldn't make much difference. How much better are they? well, the stock tires dont seem to grip much wet stuff but after doing this they were better. When I get my Blue Claws I'll do a comparison of the two and see how much of a difference there is between them. Will be about 2 weeks before I get to do that though. | OR you could not worry about swelling of the tires and spray simple green on them
Yes! Simple green spray, let sit for a couple minutes then whipe off. NO WATER. This will make them sticky as two sided tape. Run straight to your conter tops and smooth surfaces and test it out. Then run to your local trail and watch the climb. It will make you think, why didn't I know about this stuff sooner. One down fall. Last about a day or two. So I keep a bottle handy. I spray them right before comps and or smooth rock climbing. |

| Upgrades installed...
Ok, so bec, sidewinder micro esc soldered up and installed and deans connectors added to everything. ESC on left, BEC on right. BEC soldered direct to servo power leads. ESC soldered direct to motor leads. New wheels and tires on now, Axial plastic beadlocks for now and losi Rock Claws blue compound and the foams that come with them. Just shy of 2" of clearance. Next changes will be HH Torquemaster Mini which is in the post today and Metal Lockers which are proving hard to find in the uk. Looks good to go, now for tomorrow as I have a whole new play area thats HUGE to try out, and its right on the edge of my town Will post vid tomorrow night. |

| More changes
Well, the HH Torquemaster Mini 33T is installed along with a new servo and servo plate. Have also got OTA with the steering, didnt get chance to redrill the knuckles tonight as needed it all ready to run tomorrow but may do it in the morning if I have time. I have metal lockers on stand by in the tool box for when the plastic ones die, which wont be long with the new motor I imagine. Some Axial AX10 shocks are in the post, just going to play around and see what I can come up with and if they can be made to work. Current standing GC: |

Your lockers might make it longer than you think. I have beat the snot out of my LOSI with weighted wheels, same beadlocks as you and Chisels tires. I got some metal lockers cheap so I bought them and when I changed them today my plastic lockers looked perfect.

Nope, no binding at all, the only issue now is the tires hit the stock lower links a lot - wont be such an issue when I get a GC3 though Theres a new video in the video section from saturdays get together here and you can see it there, you can see another mrc with the rod in front of the axle and how he gets hung up on a rock and then mine just sails past it with no hang up on the steering rod. Need to redrill the knuckles now for zero ackerman. |

Your OTA setup won't work with the GC3 though. The upper links on the GC3 extend all the way to the front of the servo mount. | |

Yeah, hadn't thought of that, good point Ill probably have to work out a high clearance link for going in front of the axle again, like an angled up bar. Either something like that or BTA. Last edited by Crawl_Before_Walking; 02-15-2010 at 05:08 PM. |

Like you I cant stop trying new things with the little losi, I did look at doing what you have with the long link but instead i have just lifted them right up high... so now shouldnt get hung up so yours could "ahem" sail past. Look forward to another meet to give these trucks a thorough testing. Last edited by biggusditchus; 02-17-2010 at 02:17 PM. |

I like your thinking with that link, that could be the answer. Well, all you gotta do is turn up and get whooped Redrilling the knuckles tomorrow so I can mess with getting a tighter turning circle. I have tweaked the shocks to the upper mounts are more inside the chassis giving the shocks a better angle to the axle when flexing, refilled and new springs too Going to make new chassis braces that stiffen it up more again as the tvp's flex a fair bit still. Hi Ho, Hi Ho, its to the shed I go, with some threaded rod I'll make some mods Hi Ho, Hiho Hiho Hiho........sorry, I have had WAAAAY too much Red Bull today...... Now to rob a bank...... |
