| What voltage lipo? 7.4v enough?
Does everyone run 7.4v Lipo's or is it better to get 11.1 if running stronger aftermarket motors and ESC? Im going to make the switch and invest in a lipo setup for the MRC and some of my others but want to know if 7.4v is strong enough for bigger motors like the Torquemaster Mini? A whole lot of this depends on what ESC you plan on running as to how much it can handle.

I have been running a 7.4 lipo with the stock mrc esc/motor with no problems. Just gotta watch for the lipo to die off a little and stop to recharge. But iam waitting for my torquemaster ''33t'' to come in. After I get in I can update to let you know how is running.

Running a CC Sidewinder Micro - rated up to 14.8v 4s packs. according to the manual. Im still learning electric rc and have never used lipo before but have spent time learning safety procedures and will be investing in a Lipo Safe bag for charging and storage. |

Yes a 2s lipo is plenty for a MRC with a torque master mini. I run a 2s lipo on a Tekin b1r and a 33t mini torque master.

If this is a comp crawler, you should step up to the 3S per the new rules. If its available, use it! -Jason |

Jason is right, more voltage means more torque. I got some Thunder Power 3s 350 mah packs from Krawler Hobbies, and they have some insane punch! The packs are a small size and fit on my front servo/lipo plate, but the cells themselves are as thick as my 2.2 cells. EDIT FOR PIC: Last edited by 4xFord; 02-05-2010 at 10:45 PM. |

Hmmm, now to decide if I want to make it comp legal, will need to check the UK comp rules too. Off to do some reading and thinking.

| That didnt take long
Well, that didnt take long, there is no 1.9 comp class in the uk. Both my esc and motor thats comming will be able to take 11.1v Hmmm, choices choices. Do lipo's run longer than a nimh of the same MAH rating? |

I would stick with 2s on an MRC. It's small and the 2s provides plenty of punch. I run a B1R, the Losi 600 Lipo and the 22T Holmes motor and it has torque and speed. Why carry extra weight that you don't need just to get more torque or speed that you also don't need? I always see guys with too much power...those are the ones who overshoot a line or snap a shaft. Until they call it rock racing, the 2s is plenty. |
