Unhappy MRC "motor noise" and L-trail chassis "drive shaft"

Hello,
I have a stock Losi Mini Crawler and would like to know two things:

1-) The stock motor is very "noisy", what could I do "to decrease" the noise from the motor??

Would using the "Holmes Hobbies Mini Torque Master" help decrease the noise or some other motor or any other method??

2.) I would like to order the "TCS L-Trail chassis",
but as far as I know the "stock drive shaft" is not fitting the extended L-Trail chassis. Is there a shaft I can order that would be a direct fit to the scale chassis?? And what else would I need to order?

Get one of the motor mufflers from JRH...

They work great but make sure to keep the muffler bearing lubed!

My MRC is just as loud with the Mongoose as it was with the stock motor...setting the gear mesh and greasing the transmission gears helped a little though.

You want part numbers for longer driveshafts? Order 2 of Traxxas #1539R and 1 of #1951, then cut them down to fit. They'll look like this:

thank you all for the information you provided,

So I will mesh the gears with paper and also grease the transmission.
(I mainly have used 540 size motors with 27t, 45t, and 55t. they are all very quite, the noise of the small motors are sort of weird)

most of you say that the mongoose and the torkmaster are also loud, so there is no sense then for me to order them, so thats out of my plan now.

as to the driving shafts, thank you sloddrive for the partnumbers and picture, been of great help, I am going to order them together with the L-trail chassis.

another way to extend your driveshafts is to get another set of the stock drive shafts and glue them together. there are some threads on here that will show you how
