Default Servo Help sounds like its grinding...

Well I replaced the stock servo arm with a solid arm, now when I turn lock to lock ( all the way from one side to the other side) the servo sounds like the grears are grinding. It stops if I ajust the stearing down, but then I can't turn as tight. can any help me.

Maybe it's just that you need to adjust your trim on the steering both ways!

The gears inside the factory servo are plastic. Maybe they are stripped. Mine was doing the same thing not to long ago and took it to the LHS and that was thier diagnosis. Mine would still turn the wheels as long as the resistance wasn't to bad. If you applied some pressure tot he wheels to prevent them from turning you could hear the grinding inside. Was sorta high pitched of a sound.

My options were to either replace the gears with some more factory replacements, replace the factory servo with a factory replacemnet or upgrade to a full size. I upgraded to a full size Hitech HS-645MG and turned the front into a four link at the same time.

645 is great for the MRC just be aware you will need and new front servo plate as well or make your on if you do go full size.

when upgrading to a full size servo a good idea would be to get a bec. the bec takes direct power from the battery to the servo with out running thru the esc. with out it when you turn it will pull to much away from the motor and cause it to glitch out. i fried my esc before i realized the problem. just thought i would let you know.

Its a cheap/decent way to go...but if cost isnt an issue id go with something with more power...

The 645 is 100 times better over stock...but it still can bind up pretty easy...
