| Vendetta Shock help
I just picked some Vendetta aluminum shocks up. I started putting them together. Straight forward until you have to put in the peice of wire that holds the O-rings in. Is there any tips to help?

Build them in a large clear bag (in case the spring shoots on you.) Use a pair of needle nose pliers and a flat blade screw driver. Lots of patience, don't rush it. J |

they are a pain in the a$$ I think a small flat tip screwdriver & needle nose pliers would be your best bet. also someone else had said to put the shock in plastic bag or box so when & if the retainer pops out during assembly you'll be able to find it.....hope this helps |

Yeah I'm in the middle of assembling mine also. I've got two done and two to go. I had to stop before I threw them out the window. When I was putting the shock shaft through one of the finished ones one of the o-rings tore and a chunk came out with the shaft. I had it lubed up pretty well also. I'll have to find a new one. I just hope it doesn't leak in the mean time. Good luck putting them together. I've just been using my fingers and a small flat head in a 1 gal ziplock. NOTE: jdaug53 is stand up guy. He is sending me a couple of more o-rings. Last edited by MRCnoob; 03-15-2010 at 04:34 PM. |

JDawg hooked me up with a couple of the wire octagon rings. This time I will build them in a bag. I've heard great things about these but fing christ are they tough to put together. |

They're not that bad, just a little challenging. |

Well I lost another wire. Im missing 2 :l But I got one together. It's really hard to make the shaft move, but it's most likely becuase I don't have any shock oil ATM EDIT: I broke my B4 chassis is half.... I just order some more oil when I order a new chassis or JB weld |

STDP Found my shock oil. I have 2 shocks working, filled both. One is much more difficult to move then the other. I bled them and made sure there were no air bubbles in either. And yet one feels like it has 65 wt oil. Im using 30. The other is perfectly smooth and feels like 30 wt. Suggestions? |

Loosen the cap about half way, push the shaft to the to and slowly screw the shock cap back down. SLOWLY is key. This way you make sure there is not too much oil/air in the shock. If this doesn't work then you probably have an o-ring messed up in the shock. I would suggest you use green slime or some shock oil while building the next shocks. You should never build any shocks dry. Its bad for the o-rings. J |

I would guess an o-ring is pinched or crooked in someway. Did you lubricate the o-rings when you put them together?

I was building my shocks this evening with the replacement octagon clips jdawg sent me. I used a plastic bag to keep the clips from flying across the room. I got one together and as I was putting the 2nd together my pliers slipped off the clip and it went flying out of the bag, straight by my head (I saw a glimpse out of the corner of my left eye). I looked for 30 mins to no avail. |

For me, I grab the back of them and bend them slightly so they are easyer to work with. Got 2 shock working now and I put them in the rear, very smooth. Just the springs are alittle stiff for my taste. and still haven't found my missing hex wires. Lost 2 of them :l |

You might like the white springs. They are softer. J | |
