Default battery location

I am curious if anyone has run a saddle pack battery located on the triangulated arms. If so please post pictures and feedback.

It's a bit of a blurry mobile phone pic but here is how mine is set up. I find it works pretty well as it keeps the weight lower than if you run the battery on the front servo.

I run the stock battery on the front triangle - on a "plate" made of milk carton plastic.

Keeps the weight lower than on the servo, fairly forward and doesn't interfere with the body work

My shocks are mounted on the outside of the upper mounts though - not ideal.

No photo - sorry, don't have access to the crawler at the mo.

does the saddle pack feel balanced when crawling and where did you get the saddle pack from?

yeah thats one of the reasons i did it like that, it's just the stock battery but taken apart and reconfigured. I've tried a few different set ups now with the packs in various sizes and postions and i think it would be a little bit better with each pack on the top links, however i want my esc and bec out of harms way. I do also have more weight in the front wheels than the rear to keep the weight bias towards the front for climbs.

I run a tenergy lipo (its 2 inches long and 1 inch wide and 1cm tall) on the front Y arms. i got some metal flashing, cut out a V and drilled 4 holes on it and ziptied it to the plates. works really good! the shocks and TVP's and servo work as a wall to keep it from sliding left to right, i used velcro to secure it. i did put it on the axle for a long time but it's pointless because its a lipo, it weight like 1oz haah plus it looks goofy with a gun metal black losi MRC with a bright orange and yellow lipo on the front servo ahha plus if a lipo gets punchured, its gonna BLOW ! haha
