Well I decided to finally jump into the world of 1.9 Comp Crawlers. The Pro Roller just proved to be to tempting, let's just hope that it's also durable. First things first, I prefer bodiless, so a new chassis is needed. The stock chassis is really nice but the body does get in the way and well I just prefer bodiless. I wanted a bit more realistic chassis, but it needed to still perform well. The Chassis is a proto-type and I have a few tweaks for the final design. I hope to have a final design cut by this weekend for one of the local drivers to test at the Galveston Comp at the end of the month. I'm waiting on my batts to come in, than I'll get some real action pics. |

Ahhh, that's cool man! That's what a moonbuggy should look like. Wiring is nice and squared away too. edit- Well, more squared away than mine, it's a damn rat's nest with nowhere to hide. Last edited by shelljeep; 10-13-2010 at 11:31 PM. |

Agreed, but Garretts a good driver, you all just need to build doable 1.9 courses until shelby invents the Anti-Gravity device he thinks he has.... I'll get some of this one if I can, if not I'll get some tomorrow when I cut the final version for Garrett, along with the measurements. | |

Finally, got busy with the Baby, the oldest brought home a nasty cold so the Baby boy has a been a real bear for the last week or so. Well Here is Goobs test platform. I'm working on a price model now, trying to keep it as reasonable as possible. The whole point for me getting the Pro Roller was it seemed like a good budget way into the 1.9 Comps so it wouldn't serve much purpose to design a pricey chassis for it. I'd like to find a source for the spacers, making stays is one thing but making .25" spacers is a pain, it's not hard but making them look not handmade when they are annoys me, I know they work the same but they don't look great. I didn't take pics of the lexan because it's out on the machine and pics of clear lexan aren't that impressive, I sitll need to work out how much extra to add to the lexan so it bends properly. I hope to have the first production model ready early next week, just need to check my hardware inventory. Here's a little video of me testing the proto-type out back, nothing to hard, none of the screws were loc-tited so I kept it easy and short. |

Great video, I love the look of this chassis and it seems really capable. It's good to have another choice of bodyless chassis |

Nice video, and the chassis looks sharp, should have a hit on your hands! |
