Default A few BWD Mini Wedge Pro questions

Hi guys,

I did put these questions in the "another one......" thread, but i think they might have been overlooked from my complaining

So i've ordered the BWD chassis, with motor mount.
In the instructions it says:
Quote:
Traxxas Stampede rod ends x 12 pieces
Are these the "TRA1942" rod ends?

If so the product description says:
Quote:
It includes 16 long and 4 short connectors, with 18 hollow ball connectors and two ball screws. It fits many Traxxas kits.
Is it the long or the short connectors i need and are they enough in 1 packet?

I have ordered a set of zero ackerman front spindles (#LOSB1432).
A set of threaded ally shocks (#LOSB1439)
3Racing Rear Hubs (#MRC-06/BU)

Already have the metal F/R and centre diff lockers (#LOSB1435 & LOSB1433).
A set of 1.9 Titus wheels with the extra weights are on the way as are a set on 1.9 Rovers.

Is there anything i've missed that i need or would be advised to get please?

Cheers
Mark

that is the rod end kit you need...and one is all it takes. You will use 12 of the long connectors and 4 of your stock lower link rod ends. Other than that, you'll need to fab up your steering links to work with the new knuckles...but other than that seems like a good start. Ya may also want to stick a mini e revo pinion in your front axle for overdrive

Your only ging to use the pinion, not the ring gear. It is a direct drop in,no mods needed. You may look at it and think your gonna have trouble snuging the driveshaft.Dont worry about it,it wrks fine.
Some guys have said they drop them in and it spins very smooth, mine didnt.
You will just need to try to shim it best you can to get it spining as freely as possible.

Fantastic thanks.
Are you Don the guy i've been talking via email with?

If i also buy your "over the axle steering kit" does this bolt straight on and avoid me faffing about with steering links?
If so which one of the two steering kits do i need for the #LOSB1432 front arms?

Not looking to hijack the thread but...

Could you explain the advantage of this and the effect it has on the crawler and why it's only in on the front drive? Overdrive means that the front axle will be rotating faster than the rear?

Thanks in advance.

Over driving the front will help by not having the rear axle push the truck over on verticals and it will kind of act like a dig when turning.Front tires will turn faster so it will kind of drag the rear.Make sense?

Thanks for the quick reply. Great explaination, makes perfect sense and seems to be the next "must have" mod for the MRC. Any downsides?

You might have to do some shimming, just make sure there's not alot of slop when you turn the pinion back and forth.

I could be that very same Don

I do not have an over the axle kit for the new losi zero ackerman knuckles yet. That said, if I had the eye/eye measurement on the knew knuckles mounted on the axle, I would be happy to make some up. It seems much easier for me to make them ready to bolt on tho

Quick question Mr BWD please.

If i order one of your OTA steering kits, will it work ok with the Losi Zero Ackerman Front hubs (LOSB1432)?
If so which of the 2 kits is it i need to order please?

Any details on what i need to do to get the knuckles to fit as well please?

I do not currently have a kit for the new Losi knuckles. I have yet to order some to make the kit for them.

Cheers Don

How about if i get a set sent out to you?

I only ordered them yesterday so i'm pretty sure they haven't been dispatched yet.
If the seller agrees i'm happy to have the sent to you to see what you can do.

If that means you need to drill and tap them out to 3mm then i guess i'll have to live with that

That's what I hear as well. I just need to bolt up a set on my pic rig to check clearances and design the link for it.

Dohhhhh

There goes my plan of getting something for nothing

All joking aside though Don if it'd help i'll get them redirected to you.
I'm in no rush for them so you could try them see if the current design works or needs modification, let me know when they're done and i'll order the OTA setup from you and you can send the knuckles with that.
