| Larger Servo Mount
First of all, I did see the rule about feeler threads, but I wasn't sure what you guys considered a "vendor". I'm just cutting these in my garage on a homemade CNC machine, so let me know if that still deems this against the rules. I have made these servo mounts from CF, initially I just did one piece for my brother. He is using the Spektrum S6010 which was a bit larger than the stock servo. I know nothing about crawlers so I was hoping to find some help here. Is it worth it moving up to a servo of this size, and is it common? Are their other products out there like this? I didn't find anything, but I really have no clue where to look If all is good with the rules, I no longer have access to the crawler to check the fit, but still have the CAD files... so I cut three of these out today that I would like to give away to three respected members who could let me know if they are a helpful or just junk. The CF is 1/8" thick, and utilizes the stock servo mounts, but the servo will need to be modified a bit to fit the mounts. I just used a dremel and reamed the holes on the "ears" of the servo a bit closer together. The holes that are used to mount the CF to the axle are countersunk, but I do not know if the sink is deep/wide enough. Also, I could not remember if the screws that mount the servo mounts required a countersink or not, so they were left alone. I cut one of them too close to the edge and the piece moved on the final cut, but I see no reason it would affect function. And here one is mounted on a crawler. |

I've still got these if anyone is interested. I'm assuming that since this isn't locked that it is not against the rules, correct? Thanks, Taylor. |
