At first, run it as stock to get used to it and find its limits, Then I reckon a new servo is in order, a high torque mini servo (hitec do a great one , 5kg torque) or move up to a full sized servo (but you need to run a BEC, correctly wired in)

Battery changed to a 2S LiPo is a good improvment.

Stock receiever is great, stock ESC is good if treat well.
Stock motor is fine, but for more speed and torque, holmes hobbies torquemaster mini (33turn) is a superb motor.

It's all up to your preference. Some people like to run brushed, while others prefer brushless. Like Gfresh said, run it until it starts breaking, and upgrade from there.

That said, I personally like the novak mongoose which is a brushless system.

iam running a micro sidewinder, hh mini 33t, hitec 5955 servo ran directly off the BEC on 2s lipos and i love it. and when i wanna get nuts and spend money ill throw in some 3s

for an esc i would try- tekin b1r, micro sidewinder with either a hh motor or crawler mafia 17t

you could also try the losi xceleron burshless system or the novak mongoose.

i just put in a mongoose in my daughters comp rig and it has some nasty wheel speed and great low end control.

check the classifieds here for good deals, ckcrccrawlers, tcs, holmeshobby, ebay and other online stores.

I run the tekin FX-R, SR3500 receiever, Turnigy BEC on a holmes hobbies torquemaste mini (22T), its a great setup.
Loads of torque, fantastic wheel speed and real great tunable control from low end to full throttle (Tekin Hotwire - PC link to tune the ESC).
THis works well for me in my mini juice.

Mamba Micro Pro esc, Crawler Mafia 18T motor, and Hitec 7955 servo with Castle BEC. Look in the vendors section for items you cant find thru the hobby stores, RPP or tcscrawlers, etc.
