my local fellow compers say It comes with a blue 15tooth that worked great with the stock 60t spur and another one of the locals sead that it is best to run a ccbec also if for no other reasen its good to set the right voltage for what ever servo you are using as the speed control may not be at the proper voltage for it.... |

I'm running the supplied pinion that came with the mongoose and it works great.

It comes with the perfect pinion for it. My only problem with it is its an aluminum pinion. I would have rather seen a steel one for longevity. I have one and it is a 15 tooth. Hope this helps.

Stock pinion works great, no need for an external BEC with a Hitec 645mg or 5645mg. If you go with a higher torque servo, put the BEC on.

It depends on how your setup and how you drive. The 15 tooth is a good place to start and works for most people.
