| Limiting Shocks??? I’m in the process of getting my MRC Pro upgrades. I’m not sure if I understand limiting the shocks. Could someone clear this up? Is it similar to adding bump stops? Or is there more to it? I understand too much articulation is not good. I would like to get a comp worthy set up. I have all the aluminum upgrades and out boarding the shocks. Brian |

You can limit them both internally or externally. Using fuel tubing on the shock shaft. Tho limiting them internally under the shock piston will also lower your COG.

you must take the shocks apart & add spacers on the shafts you want to limit about 10mm so take some fuel line & cut 4 pieces the same length one for each shaft & slide them on up to the piston then put them back together & your shocks will have a shorter stroke this will also lower your center of gravity much better handling |

Is this process done on all comp crawlers, or just the MRC Pro? I'm also going to be getting a LCC

when you say under the piston, you mean between the piston and the retainer that hold it on or on the "long" part of the shaft? thats the part I dont understand

Limiting shock travel is a tuning aid that can be applied to any crawler, terrain and driving style. It is up to you to experiment and see what works best in your situation. The Losi CC had too much articulation for my tastes and I did limit the travel (lowered the COG) by about 5mm per corner. Also I used stiffer srings in the front.

Just remember: Low CG is a good thing. High ground clearance is a good thing. TANSTAAFL (google it) Limiters go on the shaft. If you put them inside the body it shortens the extension. If you put them outside the body it limits compression. |
