Default Team BWD - Team East Coast RC - MRC build

As it seems of lately that there has been a big push in the mini market. A month ago we didn't have a single mini in our local club series and now we have at least 7 that I know of. So, I jumped back on that bandwagon as well.

I had my first mini a couple years ago when they first came out. Unfortunately at that time there wasn't the support in our area to put together comps and such for these things.

Comping with the mini, I believe can only elevate the current state of my driving ability. Plus it just gives me another crawler to comp with; can't get enough of that.

Here are the current specs as it sits today. Not a alot of upgades so far. Stay tuned though as I will be sure to add my Team BWD and East Coast RC flare in the near future.

  • MRC Pro Roller
  • BWD HD Motor Plate
  • Overdrive Mod
  • Stock shocks and Springs
  • SCX10 Wheels weighted
  • MTH Rings
  • HB Rovers
  • JR 8711 servo
  • Castle Bec
  • Castle Mamba Micro Pro
  • Sportwerks E370 motor
  • Sky Lipo 500mAh 7.4V 20C

Just ordered my first mini yesterday, a MRC Pro Roller, will be fun to build up, and I'm thinking a BWD chassis will fill the bill.

The low pro is sweet, I plan on running a body as well. I hope it has good rollover compared to stock. I will keep an eye on this thread.

Looks killer man. Check out my mini build. I came up with a nice weight setup that will work well with any beadlock ring. And it will get the weight out of the tires so you can change weight faster.

my 800mah Sky's were boat anchors. the 5's will do you better. I switched to 450 Gens ace and was surprised at the difference it made in weight, letting me pull lines that the 800s held me back on.

Skys 800 and 500 as well as the gensace 450 will work fine but they are kinda big. I run all of those on my XR.

You run 2s on your XR? I prefer 3s myself.

I use the 500 size ones in my old GC3 rig that my daughter drives, they are great batteries for the price, they're just a little big for my current rigs.
Build is looking good, BTW.

Thanks for the link. I went ahead and ordered up 3 of these as well. They will be great for comp use but I will stick with the 500's for everyday use. Curious though. How much run time are you guys getting out of these or something compareble?

**UPDATE**

I installed the JR8711, decased and installed the Mamba Micro Pro. I am hoping the 500 batteries at least make it in today so I can do some testing over the weekend. Other than that, I want to play with the shock setup a little; oil and springs.

Here are a few more pics I snapped with my phone.
