| Brushless sensored, anything new?
My brushed Esc gave up the ghost last weekend and i'm looking to replace it. Would really prefer to go with a sensored brushless system now, for ease of maintenance if nothing else. I'm struggling to find a BL sensored motor in the right size though, ideally it'll be 4-pole. About the only thing i can find is the Losi Xcelorin system, which doesn't seem to have been updated in a fair few years now. HW XeRun's have a BL sensored Esc i should be able to get to fit, but don't do any appropriately sized motors. CC do the right sized motors, but they aren't sensored. Have i missed any? |

If you're really that set on going to brushless, try to find a Novak Mongoose setup. Last I heard they were discontinued though. May have to buy the motor (still available), and run it on whatever ESC they recommend. I ran one in my Pro for quite some time and loved it. Typical brushless downfalls though, even though it was sensored it still wasn't that smooth, the ESC took up LOADS of room, and the setup as a whole is heavy. My opinion, pick up a Sidewinder Micro and the $9 Extreme 380 everybody loves. Exactly what my last rig ended up with... |

I can second the Novak system. They're extremely quiet for brushless! I haven't seen them in a Crawler tho, only a short-course truck. But, I think 89redranger is right, they're discontinued, to my knowledge. |

Thanks guys. Had my fingers crossed things had moved on a bit, but it seems the options for a 1/16th brushless sensored system are very very limited. Have just placed an order for a Sidewinder 3, so i'll stick with the brushed motor and use that. Thanks again Cheers Mark |

Try searching for xtreme 380x and you should find it.
