| Bronco's little turd
I have my mrc apart right now so I thought I'd start a build thread and maybe do some modding. First, got a different motor plate so I can run 11/66 gearing on my novak mini mongoose. Also anodized it since it's titanium: There are a couple of different colors in it since I got bored and my power supply only does 1 amp. Then I snapped the head off a screw and can't get it out so I have to but a new tranny case. But, I did find out that the tranny has all HR metal gears in it. There might be another Ti motor plate and maybe a CF one too. Just depends on how the funds are. More updates to come. |

Finally got my bec wired up and all my electronics in. It runs! My batteries are pretty bad though. Might have to see If I can bring them back to life. My motor plate works great too. Not perfect, but good enough to get it running. Over all shot without the body. With the body. I still have to mod the chassis a little since the motor plate and spur gear rub, a lot. |

Good thing for bodies! ;) Cause them "mini" brushless esc's aren't easy to hide, or all the wiring.... Lol... What happen to some goooder pics of that motor plate mounted? :/ |

As for the motor plate. The spur hides most of it. 66T is a lot of plastic. I'll see if I can get a decent one tomorrow. Might just have to take the side plate off. | |

Finally got a chance to get it out side and actually run it. The motor plate works great and it has about the same wheel speed as the team brood frenzy on the 3s and 12/60 gearing. But now the motor is only warm, not hot. I got video but I don't know how well it'll come out and it also has to convert and then I have to edit it. |

Got the video all done and up on youtube. The music might not be the best but it's what I had to work with that was long enough for the vid. And the gopro isn't the best for up close action as you can tell. |

Yeah, it's pretty fun. I haven't had much of a chance to really do anything since I've been working and the days I have off I'm just tired and want to sleep. I might go out to Fontana saturday and do a little crawling.

Can anyone explain how the Dravtec rear lock outs for the MRC work? Is it just one bearing on the outside or are there supposed to be two?

There should be 2 bearings (4x10x4 mm) per lockout, one on the outside and one on the inside. Sometimes the bearing pocket is a little bit tight, if so you can scrape the pocket carefully with a exacto blade.

| Re: Bronco's little turd That's actually why I was asking. The bearings went in pretty easy and threw up a red flag so I asked. I'm not used to having bearings go in that easy. |

Ok I hope the bearings still fits nice and snug. It is a bit trickey sometimes with Shapeways for dimensions sensitive areas (like bearing pockets) as the dimension can vary a bit between orders. If I do not remember wrong, I think I had to make 3 versions of that lockout before I was satisifed with the bearing pockets. |

I can always wrap the outer bearing race with something if I need it to fit tighter. I'll get it all figured out as soon as I get my shock situation figured out.
