Water proofing is easy.

Servos - Separate the case sections and run a fine bead around the main case body and around the output shaft hole.

ESC - I use RC boat ESCs the are cheap and can handle 12v. You can find them on Ebay 2 for $38 shipped right now.

Batteries - I run lipos and have yet to have a problem submerging them in water. Though if it wil put you at ease stuff them in a balloon.

BECs - balloon them. I run CC BECs in all my stuff. I jusy silicone the ends of the shrink wrap.

RX - Balloon them. I run Spektrum equipment have yet to have a problem.

Those pics of the mud runner are sweet! I think I may need to start a new project.

And really; are people that afraid to run their equipment in water? Sorry, just that when running all my stuff over the years I have only ever lost one expensive servo and a decent ESC(which were both my fault). IDK maybe I'm just lucky. But it sounds like fun to me.

Well, the issue most folk raise is clean up. I run my rig in the mud, squirt it off with the hose when I get home and just give it a good once over with a shop towel and my rig looks good. About once a month I tear it down to inspect it any way and it gets a good cleaning then. So if you like to play in the mud then enjoy, if you like your shelf queens then whatever. As stated I like to enjoy my toys more then others.

I know what you mean. How many people have a pic of there rig like this? Not many. I say 50/50 it is lazy people and others that don't know how easy it is to prep a rig to run in water.

Default Tough Truck stuff

If I water proofed my rig I could come play in the mud. Mines just basically a stock axial. I think the mud and dirt sounds like a good time. See you sunday some time

Damn it! I can't make it again tomorrow. I got offered some nice "overtime pay" to stay after work and finish stripping and waxing the floors. Oh well I need it after the money I blew at Dan's yesterday. Have fun guys.

edit; Dont forget to set your clocks forward tonight for daylight savings. Boo!
