Default Jeep TJ Unlimited Micro Losi

1:18.8 Scale body according to 5.5" wheelbase.

My plan is to just extend the chassis plates to makeup for the difference in wheelbase. Ordered 2 more skid plates to attach my lower links on the ends of the chassis. Transmission will still be center mounted so I had to order more driveshafts to make extensions.

Here's where I'm at so far. Another chassis plate to make and waiting on parts.

Great job on the chassis. It looks like it came stock that way!
Only thing I think it may need is slightly bigger tires. Thats
just my taste though.

looks like a good start
how well do the axles and wheels fit in the body?
most 1:18 bodies i looked at were way to wide even with spacers

How did you cut the chassis out?
Glad to see a REAL micro scaler in the works, dosent look like a mudbogger, even though I hear your into those now!

Cut most of it out on the bandsaw. Had to use a cut-off for the top section between the shock towers.

This chassis was just for the ease of getting it done so I could crawl it. I'll be building a more scale truck with the other body I have.

Glad to see someone else using this body, interested to see how the extra wb works for you. I shortened my body 1/2 inch to make a model of my 1:1 TJ and I LOVE how it wheels now! The body is a little heavy but the truck doesnt seem to mind and after some homemade wheel spacers it is pretty darn stable! Good luck with you build!

Got parts today so we have a functional chassis/drivetrain. I'll be attaching the body next.

My triple skid plate idea worked well. No driveshaft clearance issues. I was worried it would hit, but the axle pinions are plenty high.

Got the body all mounted up but I don't like how it crawls on the course we made. I'll probably shorten the wheelbase and body to a stock TJ wheelbase and give that a go. Back to the drawing board. I'll be sure to take photos of what it looks like before putting it under the knife again.

You have proven to me that the Micro Losi is a 1/18th scale (with stock rubber). I never seen it as a 1/25th. Very nice work thus far!
