Default Brain vacation

I really needed one, so I’m building this scaler.

Hi All.

I first want to say how much I have been amazed by the creations I’ve seen here. Especially the tube-style rigs. Very impressive hand-work, and all very inspiring.

I’ve been lurking around for a few seasons, and with my new discovery of the wee 1/24th micro crawler, I’ve started on one.

I have a lot of experience with composites, so that is the medium I used to build this rig up.
Made a few plate-stock pieces in various shapes, and bought some mildly expensive aluminum bits.

The carbon fiber look will not be used in this build, so all those parts will be painted BBQ-black. Here is where I’m at so far.

Next will be bumpers, then electronics installation, and then body / detailing.

Any feed back advice will be openly accepted.

The carbon fiber looks pretty sweet actually, do you plan on doing it on another build?

Not at the moment.

I got to finish this one, so I can get playing with it.

A comp crawler is planned, but not for a while.

The indoor courses intrigue me though. I've been researching what the model train fellas have been doing, and keeping an eye on some of the landscape designs posted here.

All in time.

I want to make an indoor scale course but space is limited in my apartment.

Default Rear bumper installed

See photo link for more pics.

Now for the front bumper, and a web-scour for wee shackles, hooks, and chain.
