Default Losi Micro: Qlo body option

Dunno if this belongs here or in general crawlers, but I figure someone looking at these threads might do a more careful cut that I have and manage to make a scaler, so:

Losi says that the Micro is 1/24th, but I've always been more impressed by the scale looks of the 1/20th or so bodies that folks have managed to find and put on. At 1/24th, it looks kind of monster truck-ish (or at least not street legal) to me.

Yokomo, on the other hand, makes a much bigger "micro" (or Mini, or whatever). But the MiniQlo comes with the same hardcore comp body shell that the Losi does.

Then they released the Miniqlo MOA, and it comes with an old pickup body. Kind of reminds me of a Midnight Pumpkin:

It's also too small to be scale on the MiniQlo:

On the Losi Micro, however:

I gave it the full comp trim, and I'll probably take some off the bottoms of the doors as well, it looks off balance now. However, it comes with a lot of excess material, and the cut guide lines aren't too obnoxious. It wouldn't be hard at all to cut it to give the fenders more coverage. Best thing is, it only cost me seven bucks here in Japan.

More later!

Got things painted up. Nothing too special, but I think it looks OK. I just extended out the body posts with a bit of aluminum tube and attached things with velcro. Not horribly solid, but it should work. On to some pics:

I used the stock window decals. Don't really like doing that, but there was no way my fingers were going to fit inside to mask things off or brush paint properly.

Of course, if I had kids, I know what I would have taken the time to paint:
