It sounds like its either a tight gear mesh, or else your slipper clutch needs cleaned/loosened.

My pinion broke, when I was replacing it I tried using the paper method to set my gear mesh (using a thin receipt). My clutch was set so loose that it wouldn't spit out the paper afterwards. So I folded the paper in half to add clearance between the gears. It runs noticably quieter now with the added clearance, so I'm convinced my Trekker was originally set a little to tight. But it still wouldn't spit out the receipt, so I tightened my clutch a little.I'm new to this, but I know its running cooler and quieter so it must like it lol.
