Default Szczerba's Micro 8x8 Tow Rig

Saw one of the losi micro trail trekker last month in person, pretty cool trucks. Nova's Ark son mentioned something about making an 8x8 rig like the 2.2 version.

A few messages and file exchanges with Fungi aka Lynx Micro and the wheels were turning. Shout out to jmz6 for getting me old CAB files he made up 2 years ago.

Initial setup Fungi came up with making his 6x6 into 8x8.

The laser cut to perfection chassis.

Wow that chassis is something else. Amazing piece of work. Is it 3D printed or laser cut?

Me either. Wont be as much work as the 1/10 but it will be labor intensive.

Laser cut chassis pieces.

Hoping it turns out good as well.

Fungi laser cut all the chassis parts as well as the cab pieces.
Some axle installed pictures. Two screws per side and shocks not installed right now.

Tiny laser cut transmission parts.

Resized and laser cut cab from from the 1/10 build. Makes getting started way easier.

Super rough mockup

Indeed. The shocks will help limit them. The shocks are supposed to mount inside the chassis rails but I am looking to make them mount outside the rails to be a little more visible.

Picked up this 1/25 semi model for build accessories.
Almost a perfect scale match.

Digging it. Hope you had more of the link things printed so when they wear out and break you can just swap them out. Are they stiff enough to hold the axles side to side or will you need to add panhards at some point?

See pic. Below.

LASER CUT for the 17th time in this thread. Laser cut chassis parts and cab panels.

See how one piece is already missing? Lol not lol. Broke one in first 3 minutes with my clumsy hands.

They are stiff on the side by side action. Remember this is a micro, so the weight will be light but note taken on panhard.

Do those axles lend themselves to an easy pass-through configuration?

Somewhat.

The worm gear has to be modded on one end to be extended for the output.

Yes, it's my 1/4 scale 1/10 scale build.

I tried and failed. 1/8 tube and 3/32 rod.
The 1/8 rod has to be turned down to fit the bearing and I took too much off. And I got it crooked.

My attempt. I have sense sub-contracted out this task to chevy55. Check out his builds on IG. "flatout55"
