Re: WPL C14 I like C14 more but in the end I will be using the C54 body after I paint it. Really impressed with this little truck. Lots of fun. The v3 radio and sound kit it pretty cool too. https://www.wpl-rc.com/?ref=J1000 https://i.imgur.com/mWsfTxbh.jpg |

Re: WPL C14 Quote:
I prefer the C24 with full pickup truck bed because it has more familiarity, a more "pedestrian" and commonplace appearance and more options for stowing scale accessories. I don't think the full bed makes you lose any crawling capability unless you drive in reverse a lot :) The C24 has the early grill and round headlights too, which represents a 1979 to 1982 Hilux but I'm not sure if it should have the tailgate latches on each side or the single handle in the center. Uh oh, I'm OCD on the details... |

I put down the color today on my C54 body. I used 8R3 which is a Toyota 100 series and other model color, but it looks much darker than I expected. I still have to clear coat it so it may change. Looks great either way. It is much more blue than the photos show. https://i.imgur.com/TsK6oClh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/MXlHTmAh.jpg The color I expected: https://i.imgur.com/93Agcbsh.jpg https://www.wpl-rc.com/?ref=J1000 |
Re: WPL C14 Cool! Looks very suburban. You need a soccer mom driver, a load of groceries in the back and some conservative Michelin all-season tires on the rims—nothing too wild now :lmao: |
Re: WPL C14 Man, that color is too pretty! I think it looks fantastic, although the more blue look would have been equally awesome on it though |

Here is mine, with 3DPrinted wheels and front bumper...still not finishing the build because still build some accessories. But I have changed the axles to metal one, alloy servo mount, 2 motors config, 'thin' metal links (not really liking the beefier one as not looks scale) https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/8...923/daqrvj.jpg https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/8...923/i2Iyph.jpg https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/8...922/53bKDb.jpg https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/8...924/m64Bts.jpg https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/8...924/pR2bTo.jpg |

I'm barely new to SLA printer, so do I still amaze with the result than FDM printing"thumbsup" You should try SLA as these days more affordable IMHO. |

Re: WPL C14 Since I haven't shown it in a while, here's my C24. I sprayed it with Testors One Coat Lacquer Root Beer Brown to replicate Toyota's Brown Metallic color. I'm pretty happy with the finishhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...94f004518a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d9621c0ad3.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...ae3f05fe10.jpg Sent from my U693CL using Tapatalk |
Re: WPL C14 @CD02, Nice! Clean build...was thinking that color for my body:) Does the rear cage made from metal? If so, what diameter did you use? Made rock slider... https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/2...924/pR2bTo.jpg |

Re: WPL C14 I'll join the party. Here is my c24. All stock at the moment. 850mAh 2s, spektrum tx/rx and a cheap 10a esc. https://i.imgur.com/OizYSz8l.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ZluhRXOl.jpg |

Re: WPL C14 Looks great, I have been searching for some for my root beer C24 but couldn't find any. I guess I could hand cut some, but I can't buy small amounts of vinyl like that. Did you paint it or is that the stock white? It almost looks like an eggshell color or it may just be your lighting. |
Re: WPL C14 Quote:
It is painted with Rustoleum ivory silk. It was the closest I could find to the original toyota beige without having to dig out the airbrush and custom mix something |
Re: WPL C14 Man, that's perfect. Would you ever consider selling some vinyls for WPLs? Sent from my U693CL using Tapatalk |
Re: WPL C14 I hvent really put much thought into it. Pretty busy with 2 small kids. If you want to PM me with what you were thinking, I can see what i can do. We have a few feet of snow here, and im still waiting on parts from the slow boat, so I have only been driving this thing inside. My son has been driving my Barrage 1/24 and hes loving it now that we can both drive together. He stripped one of the gears in it too though, so also waiting for them to show up before we do too much more driving. I have ordered the aluminum braces and metal links, but don't like the way any of the aftermarket shocks mount up. From all the pics I've seen, it looks like they use a bolt as a stud with a bunch of nuts as spacers. It also looks like there is some weird angles on the shocks to get them to clear stuff. ive been thinking about making my own shocks, unless someone has found cheap aftermarket ones that arent huge and mount awkwardly. |

Re: WPL C14 How did you cut the chassis? it looks pretty good. I might make my own shocks with the stock springs. Last night i was playing around with some old Losi MRC shocks i had laying around and i figured they were almost perfect and i could just use the stock springs internally, but the more i thought about it, the more i wanted to get the MRC back together as its all completely custom. i had pulled apart the tube chassis i had made so i could work on it, and it has since been lost, so i have a bucket of all the other parts stull sitting there. |

Re: WPL C14 I feel like this thread just expanded my mind in regards to micro scale stuff, whole lot of respect for you guys. |
Re: WPL C14 Quote:
Micro means Hot Wheels size, or 1/32-1/35 or something along those lines to me but I'm not sure about what an official hobby source might call it. |
