Default JST Connectors

I’m trying to connect a Furitek ESC to a RC4WD 80T motor. Do I need an adapter or is there another way to make this work?

Thanks

I'm not familiar with that esc, but if there are 3 motor wires going to that 3 pin connector, it must be brushless. You need a brushless (3 wire) motor to go with it.

EDIT: I looked it up... Just get rid of the connectors and solder the AB (or BC) wires to the motor wires. You may need to switch the wires to get the correct rotation.

No! This illustration simply implies to LEAVE ONE lead DISCONNECTED! Do NOT cut/solder anything off of ESC!! Just dont plug the 3rd bullet connector.

In fact, this isnt quite the same illustration as my tegu came with, and it appears they simply have you very gently bend the third pin out of the plug's way??

Just sand the little alignment tab off the motor connector and plug it in to one side or the other on the ESC connector. I have two trucks running that way. You will need the bluetooth board for the Furitek to set it up for brushed operation if it's a Tegu or Lizard. If it spins the wrong way, move it to the other side of the 3 pin or swap rotation in the app. No need to cut or solder any wiring, no need to bend any pins.

Great, I was hoping that was the case. I just didn’t want to fry anything by plugging it in that way.

You could modify the motor plug, but I find it's still a bit larger than the 3 pin plug and makes it bow out some.
More sanding of the motor plug may help. Another option is just to solder motor leads right on the silver pads. That's what they are for.
They are marked A,B,C. You'd just use 2 of the 3.

Just use the 2 of the 3 pads on the bottom right of the ESC

I actually only strongly advised against... (Personally, my view, as i thoroughly enjoy doing the best i can to make any mods reversible/further-mod-able, or otherwise easily-changed-about.). Not making rules for ANYONE, as i personally effing HATE rules/control-freaks

Wires soldered onto those pads can be unsoldered just as easily. It's completely reversible
