Hey all, I havent seen much said about this motor combo yet. My SCX24 started out with a 050 barrage motor, then I jumped into the surpass 2204, then a 2208, then a 2216 brushles motors. And I just recently purchased this combo just to see what it was like. Frankly, I didnt like my suprass motors so crooked. It caused my truck to tilt. They were heavy. Wonderful slow speed control though! Anyhow, I got this motor installed into a bouncer like chassis. It comes with a 16T pinion. And it moves pretty quick! Lots of wheel speed! Slow crawl is "good" but its not excellent like the surpass. But its good enough! Id like to try a smaller pinion on it to see if it helps. The gears appear to be MOD 0.3, but where smooth and free flowing when you spun them. The output shaft had a small amount of play, but a factory beating swap tightened that up. Overall, it works well and installed just fine. Stock slow speed on V1 electronics with 030 or 050 motor was 4 out of 10 for me. Suprass motor with furitek 12 out of 10!!! So good. RCAWD 180 motor with furitek 7 out of 10 to me. But man that wheel speed sure is nice! The surpass with a 16T pinion was not as top speed fast at all. For 40 bucks, this is a slam dunk for anyone with stock electronics. Or a nice option for those who just want to try something new. I have a PN90 130 motor I am going to try out next. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by BIGW0RM; 03-08-2023 at 12:03 PM. |

Heres a video of its slow speed with the furitek lizard. I tuned it as smooth as I could. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVFMJG1UoWQ |

We’ll I tried the PN90 130 motor with the Akers centered mount. It looks awesome. But… but… It’s like an on/off switch! Ugh. I’ve spent hours trying to tune it. It’s just too jumpy. The RCAWD cheap 180 takes off much better than the pn90. Which you can see above, isn’t that great either. I’d use this badass centered Akers TI mount with the 180 motor. But it pushes the motor to far forward and I hit my links, So I’ll probably put the 180 back. Or just right back to a surpass. lol. Pics of PN racing motor, 64p spur, pinion and the centered Akers engineering 130/180 mount. Looks awesome! But way too snappy for me. ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk ![]() ![]() Last edited by BIGW0RM; 03-09-2023 at 12:18 PM. |
