Default JimrC's Bronco + Upgrades

So I've had this lil Bronco for 7 weeks now and as a complete newbie to this hobby, thought it was about time I posted what I've added.

Right from the start, it was never going to be a hard core rock crawler BUT it does make a very capable trail rig in my opinion.

Total weight was never a target (has doubled at least in that department) but rather weight distribution.

One rule was to keep the stock chassis and the stock body (hopefully untrimmed), pretty much all else is fair game to change. To be used as a daily driver and built as such (hopefully).

The following parts have been added;

1. Injora Beadlock Rims.
2. OGRC S5 Rock & Trail Pro Tires - unvented with stock dual foams.
3. Injora Brass Steering Link Set.
4. Injora EMAX Servo ES08MAII, Mount Bracket & Horn.
5. Injora 050 66T Motor and Transmission (0.3 steel gear).
6. Injora Steel Driveshafts.
7. Injora Brass Skid Plate.
8. Injora 39mm Oil Shocks - filled with ATF and working out great tbh.
9. Injora Rock Sliders.
10. Injora +5 Hex Hubs.
11. Injora Diff Covers (F&R).
12. Front & Rear Aluminum Adjustable Shock Mounts.
13. RCLions Tail Lights.
14. Magnetic Body Mount.
15. Aluminum Battery & Receiver Mount.
16. RampCrab Boulder Bars.
15. CodaRacing Bumper Set

Now for some BS aka Build Specs. -

Weight – 582 grams (including 900mAh battery)
Wheelbase – 130.2 mm
Length – 217 mm
Height – 117 mm
Width – 100 mm
Track Width – 115mm
Diff Clearance – 16 mm
Rock Slider Clearance – 44 mm
RTI – 1224 – something to do with flex – is this something meaningful or just for bragging rights?

Very happy so far and handles better than I can drive but know more can be done to fine tweak it. I'll be asking for help/info along the way.

Update > just had the Emax servo have a fit and die on me this evening.

Hmmm just 7 weeks old so no idea if I got a dodgy one or if the rig is too heavy and need a better servo? Anyways, I have another one of these to try out ... let's see what happens.

Do I need a stronger servo ... without going overkill on specs or cost? Any info would be greatly appreciated

Update 2 > had the new ES08MAII servo delivered today 4 pack with all working. Had a 40 minute run and then another 30 minute run. Still working and nothing over-heating. Let's see how long it lasts. At least I'll know after these four, if an upgrade is really needed or not

Quick update - Injora is sending a replacement out so I now can't complain about their customer service at all. Fast and very helpful

Least I have enough Emax's to keep me going for now

My thoughts on these servo's - excluding the original dud servo, I'm finding these very good for the price point BUT also thinking these may be under-powered for peak performance for a heavier rig set-up (600+g). Anyways, happy morning it is and thought i'd give an update

I’m interested in the tail lights mod . Did you have to remove paint ? I have seen guys drill small holes for the light to shine through to the tail light lens. Do you have them hooked up to be on all the time ?

And another question on your tail lights . Are they red or white LED lamps ? I ask because some red LED lamps will starve power from white LED lamps if they are on the same circuit.

I had no paint to remove, just glued the holders into place with 2pt. epoxy (hot glue sucks with vibrations I've found). No holes drilled either. The tail lights at the moment are switchable on/off/hazards and are the red type. This is just temporary as I'll be rewiring the light circuit in the very near future ... once I'm happy with everything else ... lights are last on the to-do list but all lights function right now ... just not the exact way I want them

I have the tail lights connected to ch.3 I think and off the top of me head, I can't remember what the other two are connected too Headlights are always on and the spot (bumper) lights are switchable on ch.4 I thinks I'll have to check laters

Hoping to have full light function, including indicators ... I believe this can be done by doing your own wiring

As I said, something not important to me just yet but getting closer.
