Default JimK did not build a Jeep.

I decided to give the "Not a Jeep " it's own thread. It can't stay in the Little Green Defender thread because well, it's not a Little Green Defender and the Little Green Defender will be making a reappearance in the very near future.

For a short recap I stole the highly modified chassis out from underneath my Defender and plopped an Injora abs body on top of it. This body resembles a Jeep but is also different in many ways.....hence the "Not a Jeep" moniker.

As fun as the Defender is, it is more of a scale trail truck than a hardcore rock crawler. I decided to put the Not a Jeep body onto this highly modified chassis to see if it would be a bit more capable on the rocks. Other than the sweet body I don't plan on making to many modifications to this rig.....famous last words.... I have ordered larger wheels and tires for it and will probably add some more lights but that's about it.

I went into work a little earlier today to have a little rip on our tiny truck crawler course. There was a good dusting of snow on most of the course which made the driving that much more fun and it looked pretty cool too.

I guess I'm just a big kid at heart because tiny truck tracks in the fresh snow make me grin from ear to ear.

I went back out on my lunch break to do a little driving in the dark. The snow and the darkness made the trails a little more challenging.

Heading through the bird feeder out onto the night trails.

Over the snow covered suspension bridge we go.

And then under the stone bridge.

The headlights were sufficiently bright but I think I want a little more lighting up front. There is a spot in the front bumper for led lights and I'm pretty sure I have some extra ones in a bin somewhere.

I was pretty surprised by how good the traction was in the light covering of snow. The Not a Jeep made it's way around the course pretty well but the entire trek was not incident free!!

The little tire tracks in the fresh now looked cool, the scale of the snow matched the scale of the Nota Jeep.

Looks great Jim. I too love to see tiny tire tracks in the snow!

I may have to break down and buy one of these "not a Jeeps". I checked them out on the Amazon and I kinda like the Silver Gray one.

Thanks Gramps! It was a fun little run. It's almost 50 degrees here today so all the snow has vanished.

Thanks Brian. It's a great little body kit for sure. I liked the army green and the silver grey colours also but decided on the nice bright orange for something a little more flashy.

Today I took a minute or two to add some LED lights to the front bumper of the Not a Jeep. I had a few sets laying around that I had removed from my other TRX4Ms.

They fit snuggly into the bumper light buckets so no need to glue them in pace.

Plug 'em and and they light up....that's always a good thing.

All lit up and ready to go. I'll test them tonight at work if it stops raining long enough.

Well, the wheels I ordered showed up so let's slap them on!

I quite like the looks of these wheels and tires. They are Globact 1.2" bead locks with their brand of "Crawler Tires" that are 62mm in diameter. The set also came with brass wheel hexes and two set of wheel nuts in different lengths.

The wheels came assembled but not screwed together. The tread pattern on the tires are directional and were mounted correctly for left and right side.

Six screws in the back holds the wheels together and six screws on the front make them look pretty.

Here's a look at the size difference between the new tires and the stock tires. Just the right size me thinks.

Stock tires weren't bad looking but I found them to be just a bit to small for Not a Jeep.

The new wheels are just the right size IMO and the look pretty snazzy too. I really like how the 62mm tires fit in the wheel wells and the shorter sidewall due to the 1.2" wheels should flex a lot less as well. I'll try them out at work tonight and see how they perform.

The new shoes on Not-a-Jeep look good. I would think the shorter sidewall would help with side hilling.

Nice job on adding the bumper lights. Looks great with them installed.

Funny, I was just looking at the same set of wheels and tires yesterday on Amazon. They look great and do fit the body better than the previous set of tires.

Looking forward to hearing how the tires do out on the rocks.

Thanks Brian. I'm pretty happy with the quality, fit and finish of this wheel set. I'll keep you posted on their performance.

Did a little night wheeling at work tonight. I feel the lights were more than adequate to get me around the course without any issues.

I took the "Not a Jeep" out for a little spin at work tonight. The track at work is a little wet where we walk around but otherwise all was well. Had a fun little crawl on my break.
