Default Impulsive AX24 complete update; a suspension design testbed

So I've been a very long time lurker of this forum, but I finally decided to take the plunge and get into rc crawling. But before I start with the project I really wanted to work on (10th scale hub motor crawler with independent drive and steering for each wheel) I decided to something small and simple to get my toes wet, a simple RTR AX24.

When I fist got it I didn't really have any plans to modify it, but when I just tried driving it around it just seamed to want to fall onto it's back so in less that 12 hour since I had brought it home I had the body pulled out, my calipers pulled out and solid works open designing a simple body swap. I didn't do anything complicated, just repackaged the motor in electronics in signifyingly lower COG layout that also pushed the COG towards the front axle.

With this simple change the AX24 is so much better, but I also got the itch to really improve it... so I have ordered a bunch of parts and I plan to re-do the body again once they all arrive, lowering the cog even more and lengthening the car.

If anyone is interested here is what I have in the mail.

ESC: Furitek LIZARD PRO ESC
Motor: Micro Komodo 1212 3450KV brushless motor
TX: Zorro Radio Controller (not really needed for this project but still useful)
RX: Radiomaster ER4 2.4GHz ELRS PWM Receiver
Servos: INJORA INS012G 12g Digital Servo
Tires: INJORA Swamp Claw 1.0"
Tire insert: INJORA Yellow-Super Soft
Wheels: INJORA 1.0" 12-Spokes Beadlock Aluminum
Other: brass knuckles for front axle, brass front/ al back Steering links, 23% overdrive replacement worm gears, brass diff cover for front axle, and deadbolt drive shaft and links to extend the wheelbase.

Can't wait for all of this to arrive so I can start designing an even better body.

in my opinion that battery is in a really bad place
in my opinion it should go on the front axle
in my opinion it looks a lot like the old losi
in my opinion the chassis should only be a place to mount the trans links and shocks and maybe the body
in my opinion my opinion is my opinion and should be considered my true and factual opinion
and all other opinions are just opinions
opinion
