What a blast! I went out and checked the Pulls today and had a great time. They had a pretty good turnout for their first event. I counted 7 of our guys there, and a couple other guys I've met from other RC gatherings. The event as a whole ran very smoothly. They'd run the pullers for a couple rounds, then mix it up with some 18th scale monster truck racing. Thanks again to Junior for letting me run his little truck. Definitely a good time. Can't wait for the next meet.

On to the pics.

A nice welcome from your friends at Monster... I like it already.

Some of the trucks that were there.

The sled.

Here are some of the runs. First up is Paul Songas; He's co-owner of the MN RC Drag Racing club.

Paul experienced some carnage... 2 blown motors in 1 day.

You guys may recognize these characters.

The sled attaches to the tucks with a simple chain and hook.

Say, if someone has a zip-tie, I could.....

Oh yeah. You know I gotta try this. I maxed out at 30 lbs.

And in between rounds there was the 18th scale monster trucks. Awesome.

And if that wasn't enough, they even had the game on. Go Vikes!

And I even caught a couple of the runs on film. Check 'em out.

Paul Songas
Jerry Junior

If your interested in more pulling action, Jerry Sr. said to check out NRCTPA.org.

Default The case of mistaken identity...

Hey Paul, I think Chip has you mistaken for Paul Marcotte (Farakai here). He's asked me to deal with him before.

It was good seeing you again Paul. Did you get that blazer from the guys in Hutchinson? Looks like they have a pretty slick design.

Good to see you too.

Yeah, the Blazer chassis came from Hutch- Not a bad deal for the price, but needed some work after I got it. All you would need is a speed control and a 7 cell pack (if you don't already have them) and you are good to go.

My extended truck came from Termyte Pulling Chassis.

I ordered 2 new motors from Jerry yesterday, I am going to drop the pinions quite a bit so I don't lug the motors so bad and blow them up. Trial and error, mostly error the first week!!

Kevin and I have talked, I'm in. I will be looking for a chassis to run. I like the Hutch boys, but it is only a start...

Only thing that sucks for me is the fact I have gotten rid of MOST of my Sub C cells. Oh well.

It does look like the perfect RC hobby for a "asshole" in a wheelchair.

The hotel let you guys run the pullers directly on their carpet? Anyone leave tire burn marks?

Looks like a cool event. Were the 1/18th scale monsters run due to space constraints, or is there a club there for those in particular? You mostly see 1:10th scale monster racing.

No tire marks at all. I know that they don't allow any tire compound to help prevent wear to the carpet. We'll see how long the carpet lasts.

There's not a club for the 1/18's that I know of. They mainly just ran them for fun. What's a tractor pull without a monster truck rally?
