| MNRCRC Spring '10 Comp 4 June 6th in Duluth Time again to visit our second favorite spot, Duluth! With the beautiful scenery of Jay Cooke State Park as our back drop, it makes for a great weekend of R/C crawling. What: MNRCRC Spring Comp 4 When: June 5th and 6th (Sat/Sun) Where: Jay Cooke State Park in Carlton, MN Who: You! Why: For the fun! This will be a 2 day event. On Saturday, we'll have a scaler get together and 2.2 Shafty Challenge. The day will start at 1pm. We will decide on the order of the events based on attendees. We will run until whenever. On Sunday we will have our regular competition. Running 1.9's, 2.2 pro & sportsman, and supers. Normal rules apply. Sign in on Sunday will start at 10am and competition will begin at 11am. We will start an hour later than normal to give people that are coming up just for the comp a chance to make it without having to wake up quite as early. For both Saturday and Sunday, we will meet at the parking lot next to Thomson Dam on Hwy 210 in Carlton, MN. Directions from the South: Take I35 north to Hwy 210 (Carlton exit). Take Hwy 210 to the east (right turn). Continue for about 3 or 4 miles until you cross over a bridge. You should see a big Dam on your left as you cross. The dirt parking lot is just on the other side of the bridge on the left. Directions from Duluth: Take I35 south to County Road 45. Take Co Rd 45 south to Hwy 210. Take Hwy 210 east until you cross over a bridge. You should see a big Dam on your left as you cross. The dirt parking lot is just on the other side of the bridge on the left. Accommodations: AmericInn is literally right down the road from the Park, as is Black Bear Casino. Both are less then 10 minutes away. There is also a KOA Campground just as close for those interested in camping. Hope to see everyone there! Last edited by Nicklepimp; 05-23-2010 at 12:47 PM. |

I might be able to make this one now, still going to be cutting trail and wheeling Saturday. But it sounds like they do all their wheeling Saturday afternoon.

Let me know if there's anything I can do Pimp. So far I've emailed the pic to hobbytown. Is there gonna be bumps in the 2.2 shaft class? I'm really hoping to have a chance at that one. |

It must take a long time to get where you are going, when you get out to take a picture every 6 feet.

Great photo is that the infamous "Barbie Jeep" (pure jealously) just ahead on the trail. Last edited by Stormin2u; 05-25-2010 at 02:34 PM. |
