Default MNRCRC Spring Comp 4 (Duluth) Pics & Results

I had a blast this weekend! I'd like to thank everyone that came out and ran this weekend even though the weather sucked. It rained for the first half of the day Sunday, but those who stuck around had a great time.

I'm still editing my pics. But in the mean time, here's the results.

And updated standings.

I thought TomEGunn was running Sportman instead of Pro today.

Also, it was a great day even though I had an umbrella stuffed down the back of my pants most of the morning (don't judge me, it made sense at the time), it was awesome running today.

And the best was when Iroc22s(5) was doing his run and the sun came out just for him. Guess the guy upstairs was showing you a little love today.

Since Tom was the only Sportsman today, I put him with the Pro class. Besides, he drove like a pro today.

Yea, guess he finally brought out the ninja driving skills out that he's been hiding.

Awesome Job Tom!

Ok, here's my pics of the weekend. We started with a HUGE turnout on Saturday...

So we said fawk this and went scouting. I wanted to find a possible location for our next journey to Duluth. Chad and Mike first took me to Enger Tower. Pretty sweet spot.

Enger Tower itself.

I can't remember if Chad called this the Croc Rock, or Crack Rock. It either looks like a Croc's head, or... I wish I could remember.

Make-shift bridge.

Afterwards, Mike had to get going. Chad and I checked out a couple of other spots. On the way we past some guy's house with 2 D90's parked in front. The other one was in the driveway.

Obviously, the rain had picked up at this time. So when we got the next spot, Brighton Beach, I only took a few pics from the truck. But what I saw looks really good.

Finally on Saturday, we tried to find this spot that Baller has been talking about for a while now. After back-tracking twice, we did manage to find it. Knife river, just off of Hwy 61. Exceptional spot for scalers.

Sunday

It rained pretty good the first half of the day. It stopped just as the last person was running. People got creative with their rain-gear.

As we were wrapping up, Chad got a call from Billy saying that Two Harbors was dry. So, I went back out with Chad and Mike to meet up with Billy at Stoney Point. Very nice spot. Great spot for all rigs from 1.9's to Supers and also scalers.

Mike brought his kid with.

The future of crawling.

Right here he's thinking 'Dad, it would work a lot better if it was plugged in!'

I had to give Chad a ride home. On the way, we went back to Brighton Beach. Glad we did. Another great spot. Plenty of shoreline to crawl for all rigs. Parking is very close, and enough for everyone. There's even grills and picnic tables setup right by the rocks too. It's only a short drive north of the Perkins spot that we checked out last year. I would really like to see us have our next Duluth comp here.

Like I said, parking is real close.

On my way home, I was passed by a bunch of lunatics. But one in particular caught me off guard. Something didn't look right...

Once again, I had a great time. Thanks to everyone that came out. And special thanks to Chad, Mike, and Billy for showing me some great locations in Duluth. Can't wait to go back up there in Sept.

Nice pics! I've never seen so many of my truck!! Shouldve bought the Honch a while ago.

Thanks for coming and a big thanks to Baller.. Without him it looks like we wouldn't have had enuf trucks to make the comp official.

TomE.. Your the man! Nice driving bud!

Incase anyone is wondering, we were at the following places - Spirit Mt. - Enger Tower - Brighton Beach - Knife River - and Stoney Point and still have some areas to share. If your in the area just ask

Thanks to Pimp.. He runs a hellova escort service

Default Whats up with that!!!!!!

thanks for the kind words, I did have a couple good runs

I still think I should be in sportsman class though, at least 3 people were there for the class, I was the only one that ran. to me that is a forfit to those that were there and choose not to run.
I don't think I should be pentilized for sticking around and competeing( RAIN OR SHINE right)

Great pictures thanks for posting them for those of us not able to attend this year.

The water looks really low?

That's Knife River Stormin and yes, it was low.

Any sandy looking rock edge was slick. I tested the traction limits and failed. Some of those pics you can see I went in the river

Default Wtf

So I really don't get my score in the sportsman ? let others use there throw away score, I ran the same course as pro,W/ bonus, there was others competing , I was the only sportsman that STARTED.
Maybe we can tranfer my score over too the pro class so I now there will be enough people running for my scores to count...let me know so I can try to get my dig BACK in.

IMO....That don't seem right.

well there is always the scaler gtg's......

I agree with ya TomE. The event was a good one to help close points gaps.

Sounds like a legit beef IMO, unless all the scores from the weekend are thrown out. We'd be discriminating against just one member who did make the trip and signed up as a Sportsman?

Besides he's a "cute little fat guy".

Yeah I know that describes a lot of us but he's the only cute one and that's hard to do.

Tom has a good point as a sportsman class he should receive his score in that class and the others should get the 100. Its not his fault he showed up to compete.

We've always gone with the rule of at least 2 competitors in a class before we call it an official comp. We've had times before where only 1 person in a class shows up, and we've never counted it. In fact, I was the only super last Sunday. I didn't even setup a course, because I knew we wouldn't count it.

I was NOT the only one to show up, I was just the ONLY ONE that stayed and competed. IMO that is a forfeit , not a no show.

I thought it was always "RAIN OR SHINE"

If not, since I ran the same courses as the pros, can I roll my score over to pro class? Even with my score from Duluth that would put me in 10th in the pro class. if so let me know I'll put in a dig and run it the rest of the season that way. Would the club have to vote?

In a yr and a halfI don't think I have not missed a single comp, I show up to run.

Again.. I agree with Tom. Only problem, I don't think it is I don't think it's covered by the rules. I'll read them again shortly.

I commend all that looked the course in the eyes and didn't get scared. I won't mention no names but a guy absolutly hated to be there yet choose to run.

If the rules don't support the win Tom, feel better knowing I do
