| 2010 Battle at the Border 08/29/10 Sunday Aug 29th at Taylors Falls is our Annual Battle at the Border comp. We will begin sign up at 9:00am and competition will begin around 10:00am. Standard USRCCA rules are in effect, and we'll be utilizing the free-crawl format. *Special Note #1* In preparation for Nationals, this week we will have 3 2.2 courses. The first 2 will count towards the series points, and will be the normal 6 minutes with 9 gates. The 3rd course will be setup mainly for the guys going to nats, but all are welcome to run it. This will be ran after the first 2 courses. It will have a 5min time limit with an unknown number of gates. It will be more challenging than the others. I will be judging this 3rd course, and I will be a bit more strict with penalty calling than normal (beware of reverses!). Since I will be judging this course, please excuse me as I try not to judge the other courses. Thanks. Classes: 1.9 2.2 Sportsman (no dig) 2.2 Pro Shafty 2.2 Pro MOA Super Fees: Parking permits are required, but are available at the park for either a daily pass or year pass (good at any MN state park). Also there is a club fee of $20 for the year or $2 per comp. Directions: From the South: Take I-35 north. Take the Taylors Falls Exit, Hwy 8 East. Follow 8 approximately 22 miles. The entrance to the park office is located on the right hand side of the road at the only stop light in Taylors Falls. Stay to the right as you enter the parking lot. From the North: Take I-35 south. Take the North Branch Exit, Hwy 95 East. Drive approximately 22 miles, passing through downtown Taylors Falls. At the stop light (intersecting hwy 8 ) continue straight. Stay to the right as you enter the parking lot. From the East: Take Hwy 8 west into Minnesota. After crossing the St Croix River, turn left at the first stop light. Stay to the right as you enter the parking lot. *Special Note #2* We have a group of guys from WIRCRC coming to this comp. They are making the trip all the way from eastern WI. Be sure to say hi to these guys and make them welcome. But be sure kick their ass on the courses! And for god's sake, don't let them near Favre!!! We'll see you on the rocks. | We generaly run all the 2.2 classes on the same courses, so you might have to pick just one 2.2 class or its pre-running. maybe the power that be,( ones who set up courses) may set up sportsman course. either way bring your all your rigs, fun scale area too |
