Exclamation MNRCRC 2012 Fall Comp #2 8/12/12

Sunday Aug 12th at Interstate Park in Taylors Falls will be the third comp of the 2012 Fall Series. We will begin setting up at 9:00am and competition will begin around 10:00am.

Classes:
1.9
2.2 Pro
2.2 Shafty

Top finishers from last comp that will start the courses are:
1.9
-Diesel Kawboy (Chuck)
-The Ghetto Rig (Pete)
2.2 Pro
-Stormin2u (Greg)
-Diesel Kawboy (Chuck)
2.2 Shafty
-Irok22s (Mike)
-Stormin2u (Greg)

After these guys start us off, running order will be standard free-crawl format.

Fees:
-MN State Park parking permits are required, but are available at the park for either a daily pass for $5 or a year pass for $25 (good at any MN state park).
-Also there is a club fee of $3 per comp or $15 for the series.

Don't forget, that this year everyone is judging. Mike came up with the idea of doing the penalty calling first, then run, then score keep. This way you get to see a run before your run. This has been working fine the last few comps that we've been trying it, so we will continue with that process. We're trying to get everyone involved in judging this year to help take a load off the guys that are always judging. We will help out those who aren't comfortable judging yet. Let us know, and we can make sure someone can walk you through it the first few times. You can also freshen up on your rules knowledge by taking the USRCCA judging quiz-HERE

For more details, check out our Series Schedule & Details thread at the top of the MN section, or click HERE.

Directions:(map)
From the South: Take I-35 north. Take the Taylors Falls Exit, Hwy 8 East. Follow 8 approximately 22 miles. The entrance to the park office is located on the right hand side of the road at the only stop light in Taylors Falls. Stay to the right as you enter the parking lot.

From the North: Take I-35 south. Take the North Branch Exit, Hwy 95 East. Drive approximately 22 miles, passing through downtown Taylors Falls. At the stop light (intersecting hwy 8 ) continue straight. Stay to the right as you enter the parking lot.

From the East: Take Hwy 8 west into Minnesota. After crossing the St Croix River, turn left at the first stop light. Stay to the right as you enter the parking lot.

We'll see you on the rocks.

Other than me and Mike, does anyone else have a mini to run on the course?

It looks like I'll be showing up with the 1.9 and sporty.

Greg and I will there but I'm not sure about Brawley. The weather looks heavenly for a change.

Ok, that's good because with as weak as the class has gotten lately I was considering turning mine into a scaler.

I might get rid of mine, trade for good servos or receivers... tired of switching servos all the time from scaler to comp and back, can't afford a new one now.

See ya all Sunday,we can talk then if anyone is interestedin it.

Let me know and thanks
