Default New to Crawlers, can't wait to get started

I just wanted to introduce myself. I just ordered a AX10 kit, not the RTR or ARTR. I used to race RC10's and RC10t's about 12 years ago. The place I used to run race at was a track in Merriam KS that closed down about the time I got out of the sport. My marriage and career took all my time and money, so not time for RC.

I have been in KC for about 30 years and I now have a 3 year old who loves trucks and RC cars. After the 2 of us watched some crawling videos on youtube I couldn't resist.

I should have the rig by the weekend so I can start building it. It may take a week or so to build since I have a family and a house to take care of, but I'll get it done . Besides, sleep is highly overrated , I'll get all the sleep I need when I'm dead .

I've been reading the forum for a few days now and already have too many ideas for the truck than I have money to supply. I suppose I'll take the route of upgrading through breakage.

Well, that's my hello. I'll be reading the forum daily and, I'll try not to post questions that have already been answered a hundred times.

I'm sure it's going to take me a little while to get it done, I don't want to work on it unless I can dedicate several hours to it. I'll be sure to post some pics.

Can anyone from the Kansas City area recommend any good places to take my future rig?

Hey Dublin!

KCRC welcomes you!
We've got a terrific club here in KC, with 30+ members.
Most of our comps this season have had 15 or more competitors.
Like Z said, we're more than happy to lend a hand, a part, part of a hand, whatever! . There's more than few vendors here in Missouri, and here in the club. So if you need something, let us know.
See ya at the next comp or GTG.

Next comp is the last indoor, Aug. 23rd, at FLR, right guys?
Maybe a GTG sooner.

Sounds great, I'll have to get started building this thing.

Even if I'm not done I might come out to meet everyone. I can bring my son he'd love it. He's already asking me where our truck is and why I'm not done with it yet.

Hey man, welcome to the club!

What part of the Metro are you from? We are getting a pretty good scattering of people throughout the city so there is likely someone to crawl with.

Like the others said, feel free to ask ANY questions in the KCRC thread without fear. Many have said that this board can be pretty viscous on new (and not so new) people

Glad to hear your son is interested too! Events are definitely kid friendly, they can even compete. That is why we keep Nishru around, to make sure there is always someone to beat.......

I live north of the river not too far from Worlds of Fun. I definitely want to try and come out and bring my son to the next event. From the posts I've been reading KCRC sounds like a cool bunch of guys. I can't wait to meet you guys.

I meant to say Green Hills Rd. I must have gotten that mixed up with Pleasant Valley Rd. :-(
