Stripped the chrome off some plastic parts today to get ready for paint. I used Super Clean, took the stuff right off in no time! Finishing up a little body work, adding a fake PTO style winch on the back too. Put some base coat OD Green on the 5th wheel parts and reassembled it. This is a working 5th wheel, if I add a servo and rod and will couple and uncouple. Base coat of OD Green on the cab, it's starting to come along now! |

This rig is really starting to take shape, it's almost finished! Did the camo last night and assembled everything this morning. I'm going to be adding a few more details like cable and hook for the rear winch, LED's for the cab headlights, etc. |

Thanks! To me, I thought they had a very "military" look to them when combined with the Humvee wheels and truck body. I wanted to do this on a budget, that meant not spending a forune on RC4WD wheels, tires, etc. Most of the stuff on this build is used and new stuff I already had kicking around or stuff I traded for. I purchased very little in the way of parts, pretty much only the body parts, shocks, misc parts, styrene, glue, paint, etc. |

Wow it looks great, It's got some sort of sinister look with those black exhaust stacks and black windows. |

Worked on the rear winch a little, got the cable on there, waiting on a couple tow hooks to finish things up. I used picture hanging wire, which is a braided steel line, it made for very scale looking winch cable and it is easy to work with. :cool I also in the process of painting the aluminum links all flat black to complete the "look" |

Finished up a few more details, for the most part this build is done!!! :cool The only thing I have left to do is add some LED's to the headlights on the cab. These are really neat "scale" tow hooks. Put the HR metal tow hooks on, painted the aluminum suspension links and steering links flat black. Painted a few other small odds n ends flat black too just so everything blends in. A few pics for now....I'm going to bring it somewhere nice for a few good pics, maybe do a small video of it running too. |

I finally was able to take the "Beast" for a trial run today, did some trails and a little rock crawling. Everything worked out really well, no issues, it drives and climbs really nice! Took some new pics.....:cool And I even managed to take a couple videos. They aren't the greatest though.....LoL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIol...jETSI4IgxYlwjg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBFc...xYlwjg&index=1 Last edited by HDMM; 08-31-2014 at 05:45 PM. |

Managed to get a few scratches on it today and a decent pic with Pike's Peak in the background. Couple more videos too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75E8MZqz7Qc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIAaqFqsMKQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hyOwCgwgA0 |

It does do quite well, I crawled and trailed with it for almost 3 hours today. Made some climbs I couldn't believe myself! Now...if I could only make some better videos! LoL |

Been thinking about possibly building a trailer for this rig. Then I can haul around my Tamiya Humvee |

Looks great man! Any way you could take a measurement of travel? How far each axle can lift before another tire starts to come up? I have a similar build and have been trying to figure out how to run a flat bed that's functional, but I like all the articulation mine has. It climbs like a caterpillar.
