Beauty! How will you be doing the bridge axle? Just started exploring the 6x6 thing and cant wrap my head around how the middle axle gearing works.

The Mofo trans is a dual output design, and includes a carrier assembly, so there is a second rear driveshaft coming off the trans, into the carrier, and then an additional driveshaft from the carrier to the rear axle. Opens up a lot more options for axles, although since the op is using ar44’s, I imagine it would be possible to source the umg6x6 parts to run a pass through style middle axle. Here’s some pictures on how it’s setup with dual outputs. One shaft goes directly to mid axle and second shaft goes to rear. | ||

Got the bed figured out. Found a design online that I tried to 3d print but it didn’t fit correctly. So I spent too many hours working in fusion 360 and designed one from scratch. Printed out my design and it fit perfect, but with the mofo trans the top shaft sits higher and would hit the bed. Back to fusion and figured out how to add a tunnel for clearance. Now everything fits great! Bonus, I feel a lot more comfortable designing basic parts and will continue to learn so I can keep making parts for my projects! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
