Default New places to comp

I know we've talked about this before. We need to find some new places to comp. It seems all we have anymore is trendwood, plex, and lincoln. I know we've crawled at lake cunningham, it was nice, but all of the rock would be gone when the first 5 guys went through.

So here is where it lands on the club members. I know jlast talked about somewhere behind a walmart. We need some ideas, and if you cant get out there to test it out, tell us so we can. Try to take a picture of the spot, if you can have your truck on it, great, If you just run across this spot in your travels, then take off you shoe and put on the rocks so we can get a comparison as to how big it is.

Lets get out there scouting some spots. I want to crawl someplace new after the next one in SD.

Here are pics of the place that I found.

It is part of a pathway on the hiking trail at the OPPD park at 108th and Blondo. I see kids and people walking on the rocks all the time.

I think it would be cool. I may go out tomorrow with my son just to play on it and see if there is any grip.

We would have to bring a few bridges with us.

And I think it would be wise of us not to use chalk on the rocks. Putting tape underneath of the tennis balls to mark where they go would work.

The only thing that kinda sucks is the walk to get there...I know some of you don't like to drive far, but hopefully walking for a few minutes won't kill you.

There also isn't any power nearby, so we'd fave to be prepared with extra batteries.

I like. Does it look like you could set up 2 courses at once?

Yes, there are two rows. But, one of the rows is mostly large rocks and would require a couple bridges to cross from one to another.

There is a spot down by Justin's on 72nd between Wally World and Giles that is very similar to the Hobby Plex, I'll try and take some pictures and post this week.

There was a creek with small amount of water last time but now with rain I'm sure it's up a bit. It's the first place I took my Berg on it's inaugural outing, fun lines like the Plex.

Hickory Hill Park, just west of 72nd & Centennial Road. The natural ground barrier has grown up quite a bit since the last time Justin and I had crawled there.

I took my truck to the spot at 108th and have to say that it is dialed. I may go out there some more on my days off.

I think we could have 3 courses going at the same time.

It is GRIPPY rock...I crawled almost straight up one of the big ones.

there are a lot of cool lines that we don't have at the plex or trendwood.

Here is another spot that I scouted out today. It is at 15th or 16th and capitol.

It is doable for sure. There are several large areas of rock with gate opportunities. I do think the courses would be pretty spread out, and this is another spot where chalk probably wouldnt be a good idea.

haha, that sounds good now. I may have to hit up spaghetti works before we comp there.

Thanks alot Dewey.

All three places look good. Are they all on public propery? If so, we need to get these places into our schedule.

You might want to look into the one on 108th and Blondo. That area is owned by OPPD I believe and if I remember correctly there are signs posting to keep off the rock.

I know the club has crawled at Cunningham Lake before, but if I'm not mistaken it was at the dam site.

This is the area around the lighthouse. This would be a nice spot. There is shade and tables nearby as well as bathrooms. I forgot to look for power...

I can fish in between runs. lol.
